Basically its just the quadratic forumla -b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)/2a Now first requisite is to make coficient of x^2 = 1 So ax^2 + bx + c = 0 Now put a = 1 x^2 + bx + c Put this in quadratic forumla -b ± sqrt( b^2 - 4ac)/2(1) -b/2 ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)/2 Now sqrt(b^2-4ac) = p Two zeroes will be -b/2 + p, -b/2 - p
