For your come out roll, you "hop" the hardways. It is an one roll bet but you don't risk losing your "all-day," hard way bets which are the ones that stay up until that number hits and you collect on the hard or lose on the soft. You get better odds on the hop because it is a one-roll bet and if it doesn't hit, you lose the money.
