I found that you need the breaks set to where you want them before tuning the tension. The breaks especially magnetic breaking will change the fall speed. Best way for a beginner to start is set internals to 3 or 4 on rest off, magnetic breaks at full then set tension to barely fall. After that you can bring the magnetic breaks down a little to get distance until you get about what you want and still fill comfortable you wont backlash much if at all. Everyone will have the settings different because everyones casting power and styles are a little different.

As far as I know, the Morris reels have always had dual braking. Appreciate you watching! 👊

Friction brakes are better and more dialed then the magnetic brakes in my opinion

pushed in towards the spool shaft is Off . pushed out towards the frame is On

Hey tj, how would you compare that platinum reel to other reels (curado 150mgl, curado 200, tatula 100)?

Daiwa definitely has their system dialed in, but with my experience, other reels that only have pin brakes can be a bit tricky to get dialed. Years ago, all I used was bass pro reels and I never had any issues with them.

I got a Lew's reel with duel breaking I wish I could get it tuned in but nothing I have tried stops the overspin or backlash, Unless I tight everything down, then I can't cast any distance, you think its the reel or all me ?

​@@jerryg957 I personally have never used that small of line on a baitcaster before. That could be the issue...I would try a bit heavier line. 30lb braid is the minimum I go on casting gear.
