I went to Creed last night and he was using this amp and it shook my chest apart. It was clearly the largest sound on the stage and very distinct. I was not thinking about this amp until last night and now I am cramming videos like a school boy. There are some scary stories out there about tubes shitting the bed, transformers failing and sound cutting out after 3 to 4 months of use. So I don't really know what Im gonna do yt, but I do like this thing.

well, i've had it since before the summer began it's still going. i did get an email about the FX loop mod PRS is offering but the amp hasn't shown any sign of failure. one thing I always ask myself in those scenarios is "how do these people treat and use their amps?". i've heard horror stories about every popular amp you can think of. it's hard to tell what's going on. sometimes you just have to take the leap of faith.

I was in the car the other day and heard a demo for this amp and have been watching videos on it. This video came out at the perfect time!

Well that’s awesome! If you end up buying one and are in the states please use the affiliate link. It’ll really help the channel keep going 🙏 And I also hope my video was helpful

I agree. When I first heard the demos I was let down... I haven't heard a demo yet that actually seems to capture its sounds. Glad I went ahead and bought it anyway. Cheers

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who watched other videos and was disappointed. I kinda felt like a jerk saying it on video but it’s the truth. Hopefully mine got a little closer to how you hear yours. Can’t guarantee it but it was my aim to record it as best I could and not have those weird qualities I heard.

I had one briefly and thought it sounded great I ended up returning it as I was on the fence at the time between it and an SLO, but it sounded amazing, huge transformers. And the master volume taper was great, think ill get another one.

Speaking at the end there of running another amp with this, the 5150 stealth blue channel when paired with the lead channel of the mt-100 = holy shit balls of fire.. at least that's what I'm currently running and it's about the gnarliest rhythm tone I've ever heard. The two clean channels pair quite nicely together as well, although I don't run it 50/50 split volume wise like I do with the rhythm channels, more of like a 15/70/15 (I run 3 cabs with mt-100 in the middle). Crank the low end on the 5150 and it sort of rounds things out. Great vid btw, you did all three channels justice!

dude! i wish I had the 5150 stealth to try that cuz in my mind I can see my face...maybe i'll have to ask Zzounds for a 5150 stealth... and thank you man friend for the kind words! I worked hard AF to do the amp justice. please share the video if you would so more folks can hear how awesome this amp is.

Sounds great! Thanks for sharing - what cab, speaker, mic were you using?
@SeanPierceJohnson4 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Cab is my Orange PPC212 w/ Vintage 30s. Closest to a Recto cab I have. Mics are an SM57 right on the cone, a Sennheiser MD421 on the dust cap and a Hilbe BOHO ribbon. Everything is mixed to just get as close as I can to the sound of the amp as I hear it with the 57 pulling the bulk of the weight.

If only the switching was implemented more openly. Unfortunately footswitch only without seperate jacks or midi is very restricting.Even MT uses a midi solution live with creed, made for him... that could´ve been in the amp from the start.

On the fence. Seems to have a very love it or leave it character. Considering the bad cat lynx and Friedman BE-100

I reside in the "love it" camp. I do love the BE-100 but I've had enough British flavor that I needed something different

The amp sounds very dark, especially on the crunch channel. Does it sound like that in real life?
@SeanPierceJohnson4 ай бұрын
I don’t think it sounds dark at all. But the overdrive channel is a tad darker than the rest of the amp. Since it’s voiced around a Dumble overdrive special, which has a much fuller overdrive sound than most, it can be perceived as darkness.
