GUYS i figured out why they died instead of revived like in battle! Like they said, pyra/mythra/rex auto-heal after battle. So basically, when they die in battle, they get revived; in their room if it's the last stock, on the respawn platform if not. but bc they were NOT in battle at the time of poisoning... death.

Shulk was revived through copious amounts of healing arts. Pyra and Mythra were revived through _shear violence._

Even though ironically, he could have also been revived through the same means (the revive mechanics for XB 1 and 2 are pretty much the same! Hell they didn't even need a Full Gauge, just a single bar filled was enough since reviving Rex would Revive Pyra as the Blade is KO-ed along with the Driver the moment the Driver's HP hits zero! But if their revived, so is the Blade...that's gameplay mechanics mind you! Story wise a Blade can die if their core crystal is destroyed which requires a STRONG enough force to do so and precision! or their Driver is killed where they go back into their crystal, seeing how they always factory reset to default when that happens, it might as well be death! even keeping journal's won't change the fact they won't be "the same as before" as the many Blades you encounter who had previous Drivers note....and some tried to prevent "referring to Jin")

He did leave the notes that allowed his current life under Lora to do so....and BOY was Malos right on the "Words are like a curse!" in just how agonizing it was for Jin to live for her sake...and why it sucks but is for the best that Blades reset after their Driver's death. Regrettable, but at least they can move on with their next life easier (provided they don't fall into the hands of a Driver of Ill report like the "Eyepatch Sisters" Drivers before you get them. I mean it's abit nightmare fuel with Pandoria as the reasoning that lead to Zeke becoming a Blade Eater was some Black Market Driver's targeted them in the travels to get her....which would require killing Zeke had Amalthus not intervened)

@@paulman34340 Pyra and Mythra are a special case in that smashing their Core Crystal would only put them out of commission for a while (maybe a few hundred years), but they would survive... at least if they hadn't split their own Core Crystal, that made everything more weird. For all intents and purposes, a reawakened Blade is a different person than the one who was awakened the previous time. I personally think of them more as a sort of parent-child relationship. Each passes on some of what they learned to their successor, but otherwise lets them form their own experiences. In this sense, Brighid's journal acts like a family history, detailing the past of her lineage even if not her own past.

Tho now that I think about it, in lore Nia is a blade who can heal people and I'm pretty sure bring them back from death as well so couldn't she just revive everyone else who is already dead? That would save time with the fire emblem characters and save the trouble with reviving Joker.
