No it has become more fast paced but now there re enough strong heist brawlers that you cant ban them meaning some slip trough which means you need to consider your team comp and bans better. Also if everyone is op no one is because you cant just rush the enemy base with one brawler anymore. TLDR: Its not unfair if all the players can play an "unfair" brawler

Second biggest issue imo is the gold economy is busted. A pretty easy fix would be to only need power points to level brawlers up. Theres plenty of stuff we still need gold for, like SPs, gears, hypercharges, and gadgets.

in my opinion, coin shortage is easily solvable with the addition of power points cap, instead of 4k Power points limit, it's 10k power points limit, and any power point going over 10k would be converted into coins, ur suggestion is really good too because it's expensive to level up a brawler due to the high amounts of coins ur spending to level up ur brawler

This is NOT similar to clash Royale AT all I’m assuming your referring to evolutions. The difference is that evolutions are designed to take months to obtain and when you buy the season pass in clash Royale you are for sure similarly buying it for the exclusivity but the difference in unlocking an evolution and brawler is over 3 months. You cannot use the early access brawlers in the competitive gamemode (ranked) and after that one week of exclusivity the brawler is as easy to unlock as any other brawler

personally from a gameplay perspective, what I think is also worrying is supercell's deterioration of gadget balance over time. when gadgets were first introduced to the game most helped the brawler with a weakness they had or helped them do their role better. Nowadays (mostly the newer brawlers) have absolutely busted gadgets: cordelius' poison mushroom is basically a fuck you button (at leat otis has to earn his super), kit having on demand invisibility that also charges super (leon got robbed), lily having the ability to completely negate ANY damage and also approach enemies with the victim having no possibility of knowing if she's coming, larry's fall back is a nu-uh button, draco's last stand is ridiculous, they literally removed anything resembling it long ago and almost all forms of ivinvcibility. And the most baffling example is rt's gadget rework, sure his pevius one was useless but then they couldn't be bothered to do anything interesting and said "fuck it, make it give him full super" which (at least to me) is just inbelievable. Meanwhile darryl is lucky if one of the projectiles hit, charging 25% of his super or lucky if he slows someone who is already close to him, you know, the only range he doesn't need the slow the point is, gadgets weren't at first designed to be a busted, must-have (or else you're borderline unusable) part of a brawler's kit, they could fullfill their roles with or without it (though having it helped). newer gadgets don't follow this original game desingn, and they objectively have 0 counterplay

I hate how if they can't think of a good idea for a gadget that actually fits the brawlers playstyle, they just give the brawler a pull (Buster). It just makes him Frank 2, while the healing gadget that is actually fun is borderline useless if you don't have semi competent mates, which just makes his charging radius useless.

Older gadgets don't seem broken because the dev's have had years to balance them. Trust me, Nita's stun, Crow's Shield, Emz's push, and Gene's push are all examples of gadgets that completely broke the meta when they were added. Hell, Gale's jump pad was the sole definition of a "busted, must-have part of a brawler's kit" because it was literally the only thing that made him usable up until his rework in Surge's season and even after that it was still an integral part of his kit until they nerfed it. Point is, gadgets have always been broken, there is some merit to your point about the core design of these gadgets becoming a bit irresponsible on Supercell's end, but acting like we haven't had absurd gadgets in the past is kinda silly. Also, on a somewhat related note, Darryl's slow gadget isn't intended for you to close the gap easier like basically every other slow, it's meant to make it so that you can more easily position yourself up to get maximum damage on an enemy after rolling on them. I'm not saying it's a good gadget by any means, I just find it slightly annoying when I see people misunderstand what that gadget is meant to do.

I don’t really like gadgets that makes up brawlers weaknesses like Angelo’s jump and berry’s push, making every squishy brawler to have their own way to escape isn’t really fair to the assassins such as mortis and Edgar since they literally can’t get close to anyone, brawlers like Mandy or bea is kinda fair since it has high damage and vulnerable at the same time, which makes the players learn to position themselves better instead of running into the enemy team without worrying about anything.

I feel like you captured my exact feelings in this video. I’m a 5 year veteran and my peak was at around 50k trophies, back when Kit was released. I used to play showdown mainly but with Kit being as broken as he was, I moved on to Heist, and then Larry-Lawry entered and could easily wreck the safe in mere moments with the reload star power. I went on to brawl ball and guess what, Melodie can grab the ball from one team’s goal and score all the way across the map. I have quit the game now, I haven’t played in a good 2 months. Hopefully they get their stuff back together, I attempted to play a game or two earlier this week but I got bullied by a Frank Barry Lily comp and just quit once more. This game used to be my #1 free time activity and yet, I don’t find the energy to even play one match anymore.

Main problem imo is the insane power creep given from the new updates. The new brawlers are practically uncounterable and can do WAY too many things. Take charlie, or berry (literally controller+artillery+assassin). I would argue Angelo is the same thing, because he's a marksman who can't be spotted in bushes, goes over water for no reason other than just higher mobility, has super fast speed which is insane for a marksman, and can escape any form of aggro. That's a way higher power budget than usual

A few things I think are important you didn't mention. When the early acsess bundle first came out, it seemed like a good way to monitize the game, as the game was still at one of its lowest points and the bundle was good value. Also, the trend of broken brawlers being released is not new. Especially behind a paywall. First Buster, (Paywalled) Chester, (Paywalled) R-T, (Paywalled) Hank, Cordelius, (Paywalled) and Charlie.(Paywalled) I also think that heist is just an outdated gamemode. The idea of a stagnent lump of HP just doesn't work anymore. Between hypercharges, new brawler mechanics, and the power scaling update, heist just fundamentally work anymore. Eventually you have to look at the common denominator and see that heist is consistently an issue.

1. I never said that the early access bundle was bad, or bad value. I just pointed out that it was the cause of this trend, as the devs wanted to make the bundle better by releasing powerful brawlers alongside it. 2. You are correct that the trend of releasing broken brawlers isn't particularly new. However, it is debatable that those brawlers were paywalled. Especially since you could just buy the brawl pass with gems completely free, which meant that it wasn't exactly paywalled. good analysis however.

yeah I agree. However, I still believe Brawl stars has the best dev team. If they can begin the time to explain series once again and explain some of their recent decisions. Furthermore, some better events with great progession like 5 legendary starr drops and 100 starr drops would really help since the mega boxes haven't really helped with progression. Our bad guys let's over-buff her to the point that she is the best brawler in the game' 'Play testers are saying that Draco is balanced? Ok let's buff him pre-release to make sure he is overpowered' 'We gave a hypercharge to one the best characters in the game Angelo, but it's weak? Ok let's emergency buff it and ignore every single other bad hypercharge in favor of Angelo' And I also believe Kit's massive amount of game breaking bugs weren't an accident. I do not believe you can possibly fuck up a brawler so badly on accident. The development team did such an awful job designing Kit with these star powers and gadgets, that I think he's the only character that fully deserves to be removed from the game. And there is no way in the world that buffing his damage by 25% while balancing him was done in interest of the players. I think Supercell confirmed that they want to release brawlers strong. My guess is that LL and Kit were their experiment, and after seeing what it did they stopped. I think that new brawlers should be A tier rather then C tier. The problem is that finer balance is very hard to achieve. Berry doesn't need a nerf. He needs a rework, since a lot of the mechanics he is strong bc aren't tied to his core ability. The abilty to have only one damage source on the ground, which stays longer better fits Barely then Berry.

Fun Fact: Mico and Charlie exploit on duo still haven't been fixed since Mico's release (it's half of year btw)

They added so many changes to the poison over the years, yet when there is an actual exploit, they don't do anything about it. I remember early 2019, jumping into the poison with Piper to survive another 2 seconds, Janet didn't even exist yet but for some reason they found it necessary to make the poison attack brawlers in the air but for whatever reason now Mico doesn't take damage.

Alternatively these packs are a way for the team to not have the game break and need an emergency balance patch whenever a new brawler comes out. Imagine if Larry and lawrie came out at as a normal brawler that could be gotten with credits? These packs are a good way for the dev team to see what place a brawler is in a meta without them needing to emergency nerf a brawler into the ground and make them completely unplayable (Chester, Charlie, Byron) I hope they keep doing these because it’s a safer way for brawlers to be released and if you care that much about a weeks that a brawler isn’t unlockable then just play ranked. I do think these packs should have more value to them in terms of credits, good and PowerPoints but I doubt anyone buying these packs is in need of progression otherwise a normal player would just buy actually decent packs

The game will definitely end up at the state Clash Royale is now, sooner or later but i doubt it'll die or ever get worse than CR. They've had an insane playerbase growth recently and as long as they'll keep appealing to newbies, game will survive but nothing will change. What i'm worried is how the new brawlers overshadow the old ones and steal their spotlight, as well as continue to overwhelm players with how many there are (Can't ban this one cause then there's the other broken brawler, but then if i ban that one they can pick yet another) ....so pretty much what's said in the video... I miss the old times. Not cause of the boxes and darned star tokens (I HATED those and STILL DO), not cause of gambling addiction. I miss the times when i could care about pretty much all brawlers, not just move on from one to another after a month.

I have Squad Buster Shelly. I don't need a new reskin for a bunch of skins i already have! We need a power points capped at 10k with a coins conversion. Why couldn't they just increase the cap at a sensible number instead of just removing it. I want PvE back, preferably new PvE maybe with some story sprinkled in. It does seem like their overuse of releasing new overpowered brawlers could be driving away new players however I think the real issue comes from phase 3 where they take all the wrong ideas of “learning from their mistakes” & default to the “Supercell problem” which in this case might be: Making certain brawlers only unlockable through a paywall. Let’s hope it never comes to that.

im an old player who played brawl stars since global release. and i seen a podcast of the dev team.and they said want to release brawlers on the stronger side but not OP. because they bring exciment and they are more likely to make money off the skins and the brawler itself, if they release underpowered brawlers they dont make revenue and the brawler is going to be less likely to be not remembered. your scenario if releasing balanced brawlers in not imposible but is not good for the dev team or the comunity.thats the reality. if they want this game to be F2P they need people who are willing to spend money .

The main thing that annoys the majority of the player base isn’t how broken a brawler is, it’s how easy they are to play and how hard they are to counter. L&L and kit were both extremely easy to play and basically uncounterable, leading to a very widespread hate towards them. But if a brawler is extremely strong, easily counterable, and is hard to play, the majority of the player base doesn’t care. Max is easily top 10 in the meta right now, but nobody complains about her because of those three facts about her.

I feel like one of the problem is with new brawlers. new brawlers are taking old mechanics. Why use Otis super when you can use cord gadget? Why use leon super when you can use kit gadget? It makes the other brawlers just feel so much more worse than the brand and shiny new ones. Another problem is that I feel like brawlers are repeating mechanics. Think about how many brawlers can dash. Chuck, Fang, Clancy, Shelly, Bonnie, Carl, Berry, Melodie, Mortis, Maisie, and probably some more I just forgot about. There’s so many new things they could do with new brawlers,and instead they either make them jump or dash 😐 like we have enough we don’t need more 💀

Clash Royale was nearly killed and was making more then Brawl Stars, now they need to make up for a the loss in income. For those who don't know, Supercell doesn't even have a majority stake in their company, main shareholders are Tencent and other mobile giants. So while you could say 'The devs will see the feedback fix it as they care for the state of the game', they could. Also they could and just not be allowed to do what's best for their own game as it would hurt profits in the short term. I hope this doesn't come true, I hope this doesn't become as monetized as Clash Royale, Squad Busters and arguably Clash of Clans but these showrunners have a proven history of pushing to make massive profits in the short term at the cost of the game's life instead of continuing with a proven model that earns less but would stay at the same profitability for longer. AKA: The equivalent off making multi millions now instead of making millions for years to come, even if the latter would eventually earn more.

I think all of the new brawlers are frustratingly strong. I agree 100% they should be strong on release however being overpowered makes them despised. Nobody thinks Chuck is anything but cheese, Kit even has Edgar mains calling him no skill. The twins and Angelo always to me insinuate the match will be sweaty and so on. They have a bad aftertaste.

I feel like supercell actually tried to balance melodie, the fact that you can see her in bushes with notes and that if u die with 2 supers left, u have not a single super anymore felt balanced and even most of the community said she would be mid, unlike those other brawlers that are just completely dumb broken like l&l for example. Also for some reason my melodie randoms, even on like 900 trophies just absolutely sucks, even tho she is "no skill" (she's literally just mortis) even tho she is in the a tier rn. As for angelo, ppl call him no skill for no reason too tbh, I don't think supercell actually tried to balance him, but he sure has a high skill cap unlike kit or l&l, so I don't really have anything against him.

The most worrying thing about this game is how goddamn buggy it has gotten. Willow still has so many bugs on her, how many events have we lost cuz of them not even functioning properly (the current mega pig situation and hypercharge unleashed as an example), menus are breaking left and right (it's mainly visual bugs, but still). The matchmaking is also terrible, like absolutely atrocious. I honestly don't mind the broken brawlers, since I can get them easily as a f2p player, but I just can't ignore the bugs. Each update now releases with bugs (the Frank rework, the shitton of animations swaps or glitches, broken events). Another thing I don't like too is that the new limited time game modes/events are just mainly terrible. The godzilla city smash event was just whoever's balls bounce better wins, drumroll is just luck based rlly and mirror match is fun, unless the brawler is Poco or Pam. Oh, Ig also the gold crisis, that one needs to be checked too. My suggestion on how to improve the game is to do some quality of life updates. Updates that polish up the game, fix bugs, add smth cool that isn't a brawler.
