omg $168 for a high torwue servo? holy jebus there expensive... ours are $46.. largest is half that size at 3cm ish sqaure.. 18 pound of force.. I hate to say it if those are concurrent prices with rc cars, I'd star shopping for parts in the rc aircaft range..... light stronger and fasater acting servo's.. and electronics that reach 5 miles.. jeeze even my old futaba controler was 4 channel and only $200 with 4 3 servo's and the controller...for a 60" wingspan plane that ainy bad at all...' the nitro burning .60 cubic inch engine was dif story LOL and the fuel is @4 a galllon back when gas was still sitting at 86 cents

The downforce does work. However, it must be set up with a slight rake to avoid the pitch sensitivity inherent to a flat floor design. Also, the entire floor could be raised slightly to avoid the sensitivity as well. In addition, softer springs with softer bump damping would allow the car's suspension to soak up more bumps to prevent the body from pitching so much. Also, to increase straightline stability, put slight inward toe on the rear wheels, as well as lengthen the wheelbase. Less grippy front tires would also help. If you have any more questions, please respond to this comment.

One thing I'd like to understand is: How do you set up your car to ho straight? I don't mean steering trim. I mean, if you already set your steering trim perfectly straight and the car is running true and stable, how do you set it up at the beginning of the runway to go straight all the way down to the end of the runway without landing in the ditch halfway through the run? It's a matter of one or two degrees and you do it by turning the vehicle from a distance, where you can hardly see it? According to my understanding you're not making steering adjustments all the way through the run. Right? So how is it done? I am not into speed runs. I just have a basher. But I cannot imagine setting it up on a runway and expect it to still be on its designated trajectory 500 m down the road. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You should add two small wings over the front wheels or make a opening like race cars have to release the air getting trap under the body and wheel fender. F1 has been making wings for the wheel by making the arms slim like wings and using diffuser to run the air on the direction of the wheel arms location. Maybe this will help but just make sure you don't get too much drag

Do you freeze your batteries. I have found it helps. Doing runs just after sunrise when the air is still and cold helped too.
