I'm not gonna lie; I'm not a bible guy, and the titles of the tracks on The Life of the World to Come kinda all blend together to me and I can never remember which is which (except Matthew 25:21 because it's one of the most powerful stories I've ever heard in lyrical form and actually brought me to tears the first time I heard it). But title or no, it still takes me approximately 1 note to identify each and every one of them all the same. That record was an absolute masterclass.

The Jordan lake sessions has some of the most beautiful renditions of the mountain goats' discography and this is one of them. Reading along to the lyrics with this arangement i could almost see Rachel curled up next to her baby. cried during the whole last verse.
