John, people really do say they like the way music sounds because they're indie. Hipsters do so as a matter of course. By choosing trendy indie bands to "like" they cultivate the ever-elusive "indie cred" which gives them their unwarranted self importance. A lot of the nerdfighter people are that way, I feel.
