The chorus to this song means a lot to me. Recently, I've made some huge changes in my life that had led me to a much happier, fulfilled life. Lost a bunch of weight, became more comfortable with my sexuality, made some deep friendships, am closer to my parents. And every time it gets hard, I keep thinking "I'm doing this for revenge." To all the people who ever discouraged me. Who ever said "you're less than." I'm getting revenge on those people with my joy. And when I think of my little 10 year old self, confused, scared, uncertain... I think of him and tell him "I'm doing this for you. I'm doing this... for you."

im going to sound like a huge nerd but this album reminds me of red dead redemption 2! not to diminish either material, they are both unique and very special to me of course from the sillier tracks like "guys on every corner" to the more somber "bleed out", both are tributes to old action movies and thrillers, like spaghetti westerns! i dont know if bleed out as an album is meant to tell a cohesive narrative like beat the champ, but at the bare minimum its themes overlap with rdr2 a lot - i particularly like a lot of lines from "hostages" and "bones dont rust" because they cover a lot of the same key moral dilemmas of red dead, such as the cost of redemption/revenge and how we define whos on the good and the bad side lesser so, i do believe the order in which the songs are arranged is an interesting parallel (with the exception of incandescent ruins, i dont know whats up with that one). with each track, there appears to be a diminishing confidence. a good example would be "wage wars get rich die handsome" (self explanatory) and "make you suffer", where the narrator, while still stubborn about their goals, possibly begins to question the lives of people around them. the final track definitely holds the most resemblance in my opinion, but... yk... thats another whole can of worms... that is all. i needed to get my words into the world

I recognize the audience/venue in a couple shots. I was right there against the stage! Aaannnnd right in the spot where the audience is obscured by a curtain 🤬 If I'd been a bit more towards center stage from stage left (like, less than a foot) I wouldn't have been behind that curtain!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Oh well, not like I could've known. At least I was there. AND I made new friends at the show: great people who I feel incredibly lucky to know... having them and the experiences of seeing several amazing TMG performances helps ease the sting a bit.

@@bleakbirds Nope, not Boston. Some of the live shots in the video were taken at the Aladdin in Portland, OR in May 2022 (on either the 9th, 10th, or 11th- I was there all 3 nights). They're the ones when they're walking off stage and the shot of JD doing the solo part 0:59 to 1:16. I started doubting myself but I took screenshots from that part of the video and compared them to pictures I took, and some a friend took (from the other direction) that have me in them. I wish I could load them here! There's a split second as Wurster's walking off stage when you can see a guy in the audience wearing a black baseball cap with white squiggly lines (it's hard to catch). He's in the photos my friend took from her side of the stage and I'm about 2-3 people down. So I wasn't there for filming in Boston, but I was there when they filmed in Portland. I'm even happier I flew out to see them now!
