Speaking of Jim Bridger. You spoke of everything he saw in his lifetime. H😢ow cool would it be for us to go back and Jim seeing how. we live now. I wonder if he would think of all our modern conveniences? Would he think they were great, or would he just want to climb back in that time machine and go back? I know that I have serious doubts about myself being able to survive. Those women were tough as nails. WHAT NO MICROWAVE? I could go on and on. Just washing the clothes took all day, but yet they still cooked dinner from scratch! Im afraid I would have gone for the "oldest profession." Keep up the great job.

As far as Bridger owning slaves. Slavery was a horrible stain on human history , but all the natives took each other as slaves , white men , black men , and natives owned slaves. It was a different time. And a different world. I dont think you can judge a mans character in those days by if he had a slave or not. Even though to us and rightfully so it is an awful and horrible thing. To these men it was a different life than we know.

3:24:20 A good amount of officers were/are stuck in their ways as a "West Point Graduate" or any other prestigious ROTC program, with sort of a superiority complex. A majority of them aren't, but every once in a while, you'll get someone who's been in 1-3 years as an officer and won't listen to the advice of NCOs who have been there for 6+ years. Not shitting on them by any means, they'll learn the hard way when they fuck something up terribly and their NCOs gives them the look of "I told you so."
