I had a similar experience when I moved into my current place. In my case, the movers lost only 4 boxes, and SMOKED my pot 😣

Sounds like a half assed operation if they didn't inventory and tag the boxes before taking them out. Moving is such a pain.

Using moving companies can be a.. Pain. I hired a company who even provided the boxes, but the day of moving I get a call they will be late because the last job took too long.. Three hours later they finally arrive, but instead of an actual truck they came with an camper van because apparently there were no trucks left. I was not very pleased with my 40 boxes + all the furniture, because they couldn't fit more than 15 boxes and a couple of chairs into the van at the time. Luckily the distance wasn't very long, but still it was very annoying and took them at least a double of the time it would of if they came with an actual truck. After they left I noticed my monitor had a crack on the screen, and when I called them their boss told me it's my fault they broke it, because I placed the monitor into an ikea bag. Apparently you can just throw stuff carelessly if it's in a bag.
