The Muhajirin is the name for the followers of the Prophet Muhammad who emigrated from Mecca, in order to maintain their faith and save themselves from oppression by the people of Mecca, who opposed the preaching of Islam in the city. The Muhajirin had time to emigrate to two places, the first time to Habsyah, and the last time to Medina.
In Medina, the Prophet Muhammad united the Muhajirin with the Ansar, namely residents of Medina who had converted to Islam. Together they formed an Islamic society and government, which firmly supported the Prophet Muhammad in his efforts to spread Islam throughout the Arabian peninsula.
The Muhajirin's migration period began in 7 SH (613 AD), and ended after the conquest of Mecca by the Muslims in 8 AH (629 AD). After the conquest, those who emigrated to Medina were no longer called Muhajirin.
