Omg... I can't thankyou enough. I had been hunting videos to find out what kind of plant I am having, and thanks to you, I have a Cuban oregano. Amazing leaves and beautiful color. Can you let me know on the propogation?

@@paultheplantparent2702 the lady I got the plant from said she had kept this outdoors... But i wanted to bring this indoors... But all the leaves are dropping. Don't know wts wrong. The plant has a sturdy strong branch looks like a bonsai tree. I can see small baby leaves growing as well. Do you think the plant is in shock 😭

@ that can happen bringing them indoors, I’ve noticed. Usually they leaf out again once acclimated. But yeah…that can be a stressful transition for some plants.

Huge fan of tactile and fragrant plants! My first plectranthus is arriving this week (oregano), but I think I've gotta have the fruity and minty ones as well!

Fascinating info on plectranthus! Lots of stuff I didn't know. I have the white edged one that was first in your examples. Sadly I REALLY struggle to keep this plant alive - last week it appeared to be almost gone and I didn't pull it out just in case it survives. I also have traditional swedish ivy and have tried soil based as well as leca and I can just barely keep it alive all winter but it is never thriving. When I gift a rooted cutting (taken at the same time) to a friend it thrives for them. Mine isn't happy until it gets planted back onto the deck late spring in almost full sun?! I have one that's about 6" tall with tons of tiny leaves at the Ys where the original larger leaves meet the stem, but not much growth otherwise - been in leca since fall of 22 since I didn't plant this one back outside last spring!! And even though I have coleus, I'm thinking I should have to cut it back way more often than I do - mine grows very slowly whether in soil or leca. I'm talking it tops out at 8 inches. Watering with rain water and light ferts. When I took cuttings of coleus this fall, I put some into DTree yarn and some into a jar of water with susswassertang growing in it. These 3 are doing better than all other have done in past. Fingers crossed my var plectranthus is still alive enough to move to yarn - I'll check and do it tomorrow. You've inspired me with your leca plecs:)

I love that - leca plecs. So cool. It’s amazing how people’s environments can produce such different results. I’m hoping they all pull through for you. Wish I could figure out why some aren’t thriving for you. Keep me posted on progress. 😃😃😃

@@paultheplantparent2702 I use it for cooking and also touching every time I walk past it. I love the fragrance. After listening to you, I'm not too sure on the Vicks one. Bwahahaha If I do get it I would have to put it away from my Cuban. The two smells together do not sound pleasant. L0L

I’ve been growing a plectranthus plant outside this summer. It has the name ‘Lemon Leaf’ from the online herb store I got it from. I thought it was the same kind as the one, which you said you couldn’t put a name to, but it brought you back to younger days. It smells great, almost like candied lemons, or maybe even Fruit Stripe gum. I either dry my herbs or freeze dry them if the herbs lose most of their potency, like parsley, tarragon or basil. Would I dry these normally like oregano or thyme, or freeze dry them? I read online you can also eat the leaves raw. Is this true? I do love how great the leaves and stalks feel. I can understand your fascination to these plants. Thanks for your help.

@@manfrisstwasmanist oh yes. I have two lemon leaf Plectranthus and I’ve been obsessed!!! They tend to keep their fragrance when dry, so you probably won’t need to freeze dry. I love that variety just as much as the silver crest. The smell is so great - also reminds me of lemon verbena. I don’t know many ppl that have it. You’re one of the first!!! 😃😃😃
