I don’t know the counter play to Velma’s laser fr. Might be bc I mostly only play Garnet but what do you guys do? Try to hit her out of it or not get hit by it? For some reason it’s just so difficult to avoid for me. Also does she never go on cooldown unless she fully finishes it? Sometimes I wack her out of it only to get hit by it 2 seconds later. I feel like it’s fine if she can cancel out of it and keep it but it’s kinda dumb if you can get hit out if it and still have it, if WW gets hit out of lasso she doesn’t keep it.

It's not the grab that makes superman op it's the fact he can hit you with side jab and lock you in an endless combo especially on bad connections. His hitboxes are also extremely broken I've been jabbed across the stage by superman many times

There is no reads on him, you just pick up the controller and run your face across it then it's gg. People only play supes because he's got broken ass hitboxes and has the best dodge in the game

I disagree. Superman is not all reads. All reads is when your opponent actually has a variety of options in a neutral situation and you can punish them for making the wrong one. Flying off stage with the enemy and starting with advantage due to throwing them into hit stun, leaves them with only two options that are further restricted by the fact that they're not going to get an option reset unless they get back to stage. Against a low level player that doesn't mix up their reactions it's a guaranteed KO, and against a high level player it's still a 50/50 situation where you're getting the KO half the time, because they only have two real options. If you guess the right one it's a guaranteed ringout that not even pro players can escape consistently even if they know it's coming. Even if you guess wrong, because of the duration and range of the neutral air, you can still often times catch them.

Since this is clearly pre-1.2 footage I would say Superman definitely needed the nerfs he got. No longer having seemingly endless grab range on enemies that get bounced, lasers having ammo on cooldown, and side special not flying people out quite so far, were definitely needed. I do agree hit boxes definitely need more though. They fixed Superman's up smash to not hit behind him anymore, although the animation of it legitimately was going behind, but his forward smash and forward specials, which are clearly punches only in front of him, are still hitting behind him.
