The design graphic on the airport ceiling is symbolic of India's national bird, the Peacock...when the bird spreads it's wings in full display....that's the idea...The design was done by a US based firm SOM, previously Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, a Chicago-based architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm. This airport was built recently about 10-12 years back. The one you are referring to is Terminal 1A at Vile Parle, about 5kms away from this one (only for domestic flights)
