Are you guys aware that this is the first movie in the Universal Studios monsters cinematic universe? They're bringing all the classic monsters back to life in a shared universe, including Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, Count Dracula, The Black Lagoon monster. Russell Crowe's character is actually Dr. Jekyll from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It should be pretty interesting.

Ah that ending... yeah, it really, really, really sucks!! But the rest of the franchise? Awesome! The story, the lore, the characters, the universe... it really worth a try. Anyway about the new Mummy movie : I think this one will be more action-orientead and darker that the ones with Brendan Fraser that I really liked but It's an interesting new point of view. This movie is supposed to be apart of Universal's Monster Cinematic Universe. This shared MCU (😏) will have Wolf Man, Van Helsing,Creature From The Black Lagoon, Bride Of Frankenstein and other unconfirmed monster movies. The 2014 film Dracula Untold was originally the first instalment in the MCU (😏😏) but was removed for reasons unconfirmed. But it is largely speculated the reason behind its removal was because of its negative critical reception. Although Dracula Untold was financially successful. It's also rumoured that Dracula himself will be making an appearance in The Mummy 2017 but of course it is just a rumour. Great reaction guys 👌🏻🙏🏻

People keep pointing to the Brendan Fraser Mummy movie like it's a direct remake, but what they're doing here is completely different. They're starting a whole cinematic universe based off of the old classic monster movies from the '40s and '50s. Starting with this movie, The Mummy, there is going to be a new Wolf Man movie, a Creature from the Black Lagoon movie, and even a new Van Helsing movie. There's going to be others too, and it's speculated that Dracula will be the Nick Fury-like character that brings them all together, but judging by this trailer he might be the Loki-like villain they come together to fight. By the way, Russel Crowe is playing Dr. Henry Jekyll.

Actually earlier than that, Both Dracula and Frankenstein came out in the theaters in 1931, with Dracula being the first of the two. The Mummy debuted soon after in 1932, followed by The Invisible Man (1933) and The Bride of Frankenstein made it's appearance to movie-goers not too long after in 1935; so from the early 1930's through the 1950's finalizing with the 'Gill-man' in The Creature From the Black Lagoon being the last of Universal's 'Classic Monsters', making his introduction back in 1954.

Idk how I feel about this, The Mummy movies were something I watch over & over again as a kid/teen & part if the charm was how they could be so intense but also have humor. I don't see this keeping the humor aspect that Brendan Fraser brought to the series. Great actor don't get me wrong but doesn't quite have the same charm if you ask me.
