I got the dreaded _black screen with the blinking DOS cursor right after the BIOS and right before booting windows, with no option to go into safe mode or startup recovery._ I now use GPT and Windows 10... I'll miss some good things Windows 8.1 had, like the old regional configuration, which didn't force you to install keyboard layouts you'll never use like Windows 10 does. >.>

This reminds me of another museum I've been to. It's called the "museum of broken relationships", and it's in Zagreb (Croatia's capital city). Very interesting one, with lots of objects donated by people and a brief explanation about what role the object played in the ending of a certain relationship.

0:36 I remember the old advertisements for the Arch Deluxe from back when I was in grade school and how they claimed that children wouldn't like it. I just thought "Challenge Accepted" (or whatever the 1996 school-kid equivalent was) and enjoyed the heck out of that burger. Now I just wonder why it failed so badly.

The reason it failed is likely because of; 1: The price, and 2: The advertising.

Now, the REAL failures are the failures which didn't fail in a noteworthy enough way to even be deemed a failure :P
@SamuelEstenlund7 жыл бұрын
The real failures are those that are in the museum, but that people look at for a second, say "I've never heard of that. I wonder why that's in here" and then move on to the stuff they recognize.
@Cythil7 жыл бұрын
Well there is stuff in the museum you likely have not heard (If you not interested in failures) like the Apple Console Pipin (Could actually have a whole section of failed consoles. But of course this being a Apple it would be a bit recognizable then Commadors console attempts.)
@tenebrasolanum42157 жыл бұрын
To be considered a success, a product needs to be recognised and the core feature be unique, as well as sell, obviously (cost is also a factor). A combination of selling so few units, lack of marketing/advertising, poor delivery of features/lack of features etc all make a failure. Like *cough* mighty no. 9 *cough* , it was widely advertised but didn't deliver on their promises, so they didn't sell many copies (probably only backers and a few collectors), thus it failed because of one mistake. It's like a triangle of things that fail that people don't seem to consider before designing something.

Custap last I heard the company was bought out by razer and now they only make normal android games. It was more a failure in that it didn't really deliver on what it promised. It was under powered, the wifi was terrible, the ui was clunky, and considering they marketed it as a device you were supposed to be able to tinker with it was incredibly easy to brick.

they released it before it was ready, but other than that it did what it said on the tin. Many people bought it thinking it would have all major games released on it and it would be a good deal on a console for like $90. It is still good for playing android games on a tv though i hear.
