No doubt some characters need optimization for sure (Kuma for ex. which deals broken high damage with certain punches or Azucena which has that extremely spammable knee attack that you can’t duck/side step). But mostly yes, people just seek that ego boost…

Not per se. Tekken is one of those games in which learning the very basics is easy enough, but getting proficiency takes its time. That being said, there are indeed some characters you can consider beginner friendly due to being simpler to control and master. If you wanna give the game a go, try fighters like Paul, Asuka , Jun or Law. Jin also has gotten into this category, at least compared from Tekken 7. Guess due to the fact you almost exclusively control him during story mode and the developers wanted to make him more accesible to players.
