I love how Atlus puts in SO many psychological aspects and elements into the Persona games... there’s so much to read into each of the games and music in the games, and as someone who loves both psychology and music, I believe it to be truly amazing that there’s so much to explore and love about the series, and it’s music!

Never More always makes me ball like a little baby, when it's leit motif randomly shows up in half of the song i get goosebumps. What I love the most about persona 4 is how tightly nit the soundtrack is despite the varying tones and emotions. This was my first Persona like you and I loved it that much that I always said that it changed my life and how I view the world. The OST is still my favorite mainly thanks to Time to Make History and the normal day songs which every song plays depending on the weather or the place(for example, Signs of Love normally plays when you're home while Heartbeat, Heartbreak plays when it's sunny). Oh and don't get me started on Fog or I'll face myself -Battle-, definitely my favorite battle themes alongside the one I mentioned before. And Snowflakes hit me so hard alongside Never More, my favorite credits theme of the series(although Memories of you is close).

Finished P4G on PC with the Golden ending (first playthrough) today and i gotta say, i love the game because it's so much fun and hate it because it has an end to it :/. The music always felt very fitting no matter the situation the game showed me tbh. The most powerful song for me has to be the one from the Heaven dungeon, every time i heard the violins (violas?) from the beginning they gave me this impression that something was definitely wrong, like i didn't belonged there with all that peace that was being shown to me, "too peaceful to be true", i was really unsettled from start to finish in that one :P. Also, as the other comments have remarked, Snowflakes did hit very hard every time it played, and the fact that i've never had a single friendship like the ones in the game didn't really helped tbh :/. I think that today i just discovered my new favorite game. I would try P3 but guess i'll wait a little just in case it gets a new version, since i've heard FES and Portable have different features that the other don't :P

I played this game over the course of a long time. Started when it got on PC, still not done with it. But as a high school senior, Snowflakes hit me the hardest. This realization that there are some people I may never see again and my time in high school is almost up (1 month left) it really hits hard with that idea of the bonds I’ve made and how it’s now time to say farewell.

This sounds weird- but I think that a slightly altered version of Television Romance by Pale Waves would fit persona 4. Here’s why- The theme of the song I got, was expecting a romance like on television, only to find the singer both rejecting and decrying the notion. Romances in television are extremely, well, romanticized. We have utterly bastardized the concept of love with whimsical fantasies and drama that likely never happens the way shows and movies portray. In the setting of persona 4, which is a criticism of Japanese norms and small town desires for boredom alleviation and gossip, it fits well. For example, the chorus could be changed to, “Oh baby just stop it, don’t you know I haven’t got it! Got it? It’s just a television romance”. The television romance on this case being Inaba’s desire to have comforting lies and rumors about both the party and each other, rather than the much harsher truths about themselves. They’d much rather make love to the television than each other, and 80% of the characters make this folly. Yosuke thinks the town is boring and pursued a hopeless romance with Saki Konishi, and his desire to see the tv world was more out of boredom than anything else. Chie is completely dependent on yukiko’s dependence on her because of her tomboyish nature, as no guy in Inaba finds that attractive. Whatever friendship she and yukiko had was traded for a relationship of using and being used. Yukiko’s dependence was mentioned previously, but her other offense is how she simply waits around for a “prince” to take her away from Inaba, and like a spoiled princess, wants to run away from her responsibilities. Kanji’s problem is that he overcorrects for his traditionally feminine hobbies by being a Brutish thug, and his sexuality has been debated for sometime, but the shadow is so flamboyant because he represses his feminine hobbies and desires, and his confusion over why he likes Naoto. Rise’s problem is caused by her celebrity status, and dancing all night actually explores her hinted problems more. as an idol she had to act all sorts of ways that fit her “image”, which created an identity crisis as she no longer knew who she was. She ended up becoming tired and wanted to strip away all the false identities and look for herself, which leads to teddie’s crisis of having no real self, creating his shadow. Mitsuo is every complaint about television and games turning kids into monsters, and his problem is that he feels empty, and he rejects the notion, leaving it unresolved. Naoto is a woman in a traditionally male profession, and as such is made to feel inferior, her age is a problem that can be solved with time, but her gender still raises issues with the department. The police largely view her as a petulant child, and her stunt to get prove the killer is still free is largely impulsive and was done more out of a childish fit than anything else. That’s all for now! Let me know if there are any more analyses you’d like!
@ameliabloodborne33664 жыл бұрын
i figured this out kind of idk if its actually thing but in the bridge of Shadow World it kinda sounds like parts of Long Way(Adachi’s dungeon soundtrack). Also, for the way Signs of Love,Heartbeat Heartbreak and Your Affection all sound like different versions of each other. Ah jeez, i just love how they’re all connected, especially with Nevermore, a Glimpse of Memories and just all of the main plot music(dunno if i worded that right) it’s all connected and ahh jeez,this is why majority of the stuff in my playlist is P4 related.

The thing I love about the Persona 4 soundtrack too is it feels really hazy and dreamlike, whereas Persona 3 feels crunchy and distorted and Persona 5 is clean and precise, and in all the games the themes of the music are also reflected in the gameplay and the visual style; Persona 5 visuals are very clean and striking, but Persona 4's are colourful and psychedelic
