This episode always reminds me of that Merlin episode in series 1 where the 4 young people help each other to save Merlin’s home and people. Absent from this episode was Constance, Rochefort, Milady even though she was in the flashback scenes, Queen Anne and King Louis just like Uther and Gaius where in the Merlin one. Cannot wait for next week for episode 6. I would say that best episode of not just series 2 but the whole series and it where series 2 starts to get really good.

The episode itself may be cliche, but the music is some of the best in the series. It’s an absolute shame only two snippets are in the album: “Athos Remembers Milady” and “Training the Village.” Maybe Paul Englishby has the other bits in a box somewhere.

I'm looking forward to diving into the soundtrack properly once I've finished the show! That's a shame if things are missing. It's the same for BBC Robin Hood. I once emailed the composer Andy Price about it... no response.
