The MV Portland - A Documentary

On January 13th 2016 the Australian crew of the MV Portland were ripped off their ship in the middle of the night and replaced by exploited foreign labour. The MV Portland was an Australian Ship, carrying Australian cargo from one Australian port to another Australian port. This is their story. #MaritimeUnionAU​ #ITFglobalunion #WeAreITF​

Sad day to see that ship gone, many many hours spent welding /fabricating mechanical repairs on board this ship working along side these guys and many Aussie seafarers before while it was alongside in Portland a lot of pride went into that ship from the MV Portland crew and the local engineering contractor crews

We should have a Jones Act the same as the USA. Any cargo transported from and to a local Australian port should be on a vessel built owned operated and crewed by Australians.
