Very excellent program with some of my favorite British historians making appearances & offering their always interesting & perceptive comments. In recent years, such docs as these have made royalty much more understandable to me, in terms of the real human beings each of them were. The number of pregnancies certain queens had staggers the imagination. The frequent, sudden deaths of parents when a child was extremely young, also is unimaginable. Even the slightest of diseases & illnesses could do one in, medicine still so primitive. The architectural lesson was new info to me, at first I thought out of place but became quite absorbed with it & enjoyed. The segment where the Georgian court fashion of extremely wide dresses is discussed & explained, finally answered, I think, my recent interest in how such fashions got started. This was fascinating info! Although I'd love to go back in time & experience every single day of life at Kensington, especially in the time of Sarah Churchill, I'd give just about anything to have been present on the morning when Victoria learned she was Britain's new queen. All of these things, as revealed in this wonderful program, make one's imagination soar!
