No man has the power to "venerate".. no, not even the mere man known as the "vicar of Christ". There is but one mediator between God and man, He is Christ Jesus alone. Thankfully, and ALL power and glory to Him, our heavenly Father is calling His children out of many false and man made religions... just as the scriptures tell us He would.!! Amen.

Mark the Demystirfier, FYI: Christianity was made legal by the Emperor Constantine in the early 4th century (300s). His mother Helena was Christian and had come from Colchester in England. After Christianity was legalised, several very large churches were built in and around Rome. Of these, four were given a higher status than the others and are known as Major Basilicas. They are the Basilica of St John in Laterano which is the Cathedral of Rome, The Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (Saint Mary, the Mother of Jesus), Saint Peter's (the famour Basilica in the Vatican) and Saint Paul's outside the Walls (it is just outside the walls of the Ancient Rome). The reason for the location of St Paul's outside the Walls (San Paolo sopra Mura) is that it probably marks the location where Paul was actually beheaded. St Peter's Basilica marks the location where Peter was buried, after he was executed nearby in a sporting arena. Santa Maria Maggiore is the first church built in honour of Mary. It was located on a spot where there was a fall of snow in midsummer. Tht event is celebrated every year by scattering white rose petals in the church. As for San Giovanni (St John's) I have no idea how it came to be built. St Pauls and Santa Maria Maggiore both have interiors which have retained the basic form, and many features from those very early days. It is amazing to think that prayers, the reading of Scripture, the singing of psalms and the celebration of the sacraments have been going on in these places day fter day for more than 1600 years.

There would ve been no christianity without Paul. He is the inventor of christianity as a separate religion. you DO remember that Jesus was the messiah PROMISED to Jews, not the one creating a new religion. Paul divided the two by telling the Jews who believed to call themselves Christians, stop circumssicion (no more marriage with the Jews), eat pork (no more sharing meals with Jews), no more shabath on Saturdays, but Sundays (so no more sharing the day of rest and prayers with them), and convert all and everybody to the new religion, no matter what their roots. Oh, and booze up till you drop, breaking the last connection to Judaism. We owe Paul the whole of Christianity as a separate and universal religion. Otherwise, it would have remained just a movement in the tiny, ethnic religion of Judaism (born into it via your mother line). Wonderful

@@MandyJMaddison evidence?
@LarryNathanielPhoto
@LarryNathanielPhoto 5 жыл бұрын
@@MandyJMaddison What you seem to misunderstand is that the many relics that the Roman Church claimed were this or that are known forgeries. During that period and for a time after it was well documented that so many pieces of the cross were sold that it could fill the whole world, and this is what led Calvin to state, "There is no abbey so poor as not to have a specimen. In some places there are large fragments, as at the Holy Chapel in Paris, at Poitiers, and at Rome, where a good-sized crucifix is said to have been made of it. In brief, if all the pieces that could be found were collected together, they would make a big ship-load. Yet the Gospel testifies that a single man was able to carry it." With that being said, with Rome having been known for it's forgeries for well over 2,000 years now, and known to all people's everywhere, the burden of providing real evidence falls upon the supporters of Rome such as yourself, who want to use unsupported claims as physical evidence rather than walking by faith.
@LarryNathanielPhoto
@LarryNathanielPhoto 5 жыл бұрын
@@MandyJMaddison Rome has an invented continuous history dating back, that has been altered several times, and includes people in offices that didn't exist during their life times. Further, it has for long times included antipopes, only to be altered many years later and popes who have had other popes killed. Your own argument admits that many of the pieces are forgeries, and one has to admit, since they are made of wood even many of the forgeries no longer exist. I do not argue against Paul having been in Rome, though I have strong objections to the false claim that Peter was. I also object to the id a that anyone in Constantine's time still knew where Peter's bones were. I do not argue against the fact that they likely could have been in the field of the soothsayers, which we call Vatican now, but those in charge of the remains of the martyred did not have reverence toward the sect that annoyed them so greatly as to give Paul a marked grave, and in fact in Paul's time most would have been cremated. You do not understand science at all if you think Paul's DNA is still in tact. Finally, and I say that because I do not wish to spend all night arguing with you, we have a perfectly sound Biblical example of what Christ thinks of the temples that become so filled with idolatry as Rome had already, that it is near blasphemy to say that Christ would allow Rome to control his sacred vessels. We know from God's own words that he fleas far from such. In the end, the sewers under your house do not put you any closer to the activities of 2,000 years ago than it does me, it just means you live on top of the filth of many heretics.

I think honestly there is no way to DNA test bones and determine them to be of Paul the Apostle...we can possibly tell the general age but not the person...it is unlikely that Paul would have been buried in purple cloth gilded with gold as Rome considered him an enemy and would have buried the body with little pomp or privilege...Paul consistently pointed to Yeshua (Jesus) as the only person that we should worship, and then never in idol form. The catholic church gets away from the main message of scripture and tries to elevate ITSELF rather than the God and Savior it purports to serve.

Susan Kaitukolff It's very likely that St Paul was buried with great honor by the early christians. Besides, the remains of St Peter under the basilica were wrapped in the same purple cloth gilded with gold. The Scripture is of course one of the many good fruits of tha Cathollic Church.

Why would any of Jesus's apostles and disciples be buried in Rome? The Romans tortured and put to death anyone who followed Christ's laws. They changed the day of worship from Saturday Sabbath day to Sunday at the council of Nicea and made Sunday a holiday the day of rest in honor of the sun. It was called the venerable day of the sun. None of them keep the feasts of God, but merely man made rules and regulations. They don't keep the passover that Jesus Christ kept with his disciples. They keep holy Communion instead every Sunday. This was not taught by Christ, nor does it say anywhere in the Bible to share in Jesus's flesh and blood this way. Apostle Paul preached the word of Christ up until his death. He did not follow any of the Catholic doctrines. This would be the last place any followers of Christ would have wanted to be buried
