I get the impression that the video was intended to be complete, even if it technically left some questions unanswered. The idea is (obviously) that there was some kind of massive outbreak, possibly a zombie apocalypse. The male protagonist, who I wouldn't necessarily call the main character, has a radio from a company that promises to solve the problem. When the light goes green, company personnel with a transmitter (a "friend") is nearby. Unfortunately, he's most likely clinging to a delusion. The other protagonist, his female partner, has already realized this. The radio is most likely playing on a loop. If you listen to what it says, the company are clearly full of it, with the battery failure hinting at that since the company praises its "Never-Quit Batteries" (an emergency radio should have solar panels, a hand crank, and a lifespan measured in *years*, not days, and 180 days are promised anyway). The end, when he finally accepts what she's saying and throws the radio, is final. The light turns green, out-of-universe, because he's given up and gone to bed with his real friend. She's heavily infected and, if this is a zombie apocalypse, has most likely already turned. In-universe, the radio is likely malfunctioning, either because its batteries are dead, or because he threw it. Even if it's not, he won't know that someone else is nearby, so it won't matter anyway. He's effectively given up and will either be killed by her, or just lose her, so it's all irrelevant. Not exactly an uplifting ending, but it fits with the theme of a song about accepting a disappointing reality instead of clinging to a pleasant but ultimately destructive fiction. His ending may or may not have been better if he'd accepted (like she had) that no one was coming, but it couldn't have been worse.
