Parsis arrived in India more than 1000 years ago did not mingled with locals at all yet managed to survive bloody waves of islamic invasions that shook the very core of the Indian subcontinent, they quickly rose to power and social hierarchy by becoming favourites of then EIC followed by the British Raj itself, most early Parsi traders were heavily involved in infamous opium trade of British Raj. They were clever enough to quickly adapt to British customs and education and were light years ahead when compared to their local counterparts who were still stuck in middle ages, their very small number could be the key how quickly they adapt to changing times and conditions so swiftly and effortlessly. Having said all of that we must not forget that many Parsis have accomplished great feats for India, be it industrialist like Tata or field marshal Sam Manekshaw. Parsis are the real minority which are on the verge of extinction to make matter worse they do not receive any attention or help from the gov.

They do actually get government support. Read about 'Jiyo Parsi Scheme'. Also there is nothing much government can do if you don't want to marry, have stupid customs, don't want to have children. Specially when you belong to a rich community. Initiative has to come from within.

It's not true that they don't receive government support. They do. There is a scheme Jiyo Parsi for them to ensure their population survives. It has Medical, Health of Community, Advocacy components. It's a Ministry of Minorities scheme.

@@vinnychavda7117 I was referring to cultural/religious mingling, not the other way around 🤦 they managed remain inert for most of the time, though they picked local language/s. BTW Parsi women are outcasted if they marry a non Parsi man, there's very famous lady from Godrej family in Mumbai who married a Hindu industrialist n her community disowned her from that day, no local Parsi community will perform any last rituals on her dead body afterwards.

@@bindaasmard664 ok If you think so .we know better as half parsi stories are passed down we have a family tree etc come to gujarat where it all began. They married local women and took on hindu culture and added it to zoroastrianism etc etc and took gujarati some surnames . Read the book called who is a parsi .

I didn't know that Kamath brother were konakani GSBs. I know GSBs were in MH but didn't know many migrated to Karanataka as well.

Majority migrated to udupi and mangalore reigon only. the few percentages of gsb settled in maharastra with thier counterpart rajapur sarswat brahmins

Nikhil kamath tanmay bhat Vijay mallya Sachin tendulkars and Manipal hospital founder pais Sanjay majrekar India previous defense minister Manohar parrikar are part of gaud sarswat brahmin society. There is a saying that they used to live side of sarswati river after river dried they migrated to gauda reigon present day Bengal from gauda they got gaud name then finally migrated to Goa.
