The Mystery of Lowry Pueblo in Colorado's Canyon of the Ancients(6-07)

One of the more unique ruins in the Hovenweep/Canyon of the Ancients area is the Lowry Pueblo with its magical Kiva. Having visited many, this is the only we've ever seen with "figures" in the construction! Before drones were prohibited in National monuments, John got a great shot of it from above.
But that isn't all that makes this a wonderful site. Here, unlike many other sites, you are allowed to enter many of the ruins and get a sense of how people may have lived in ancient times. The small rooms, doorways and windows.

Very cool place. I was there for the first time around 2001 and it was pretty much deserted. The big roof wasn't there and I had the place to myself with my Cocker Spaniel Dusty, and of course the ghosts. The part with the roof over it was open but 10 feet in it was pitch dark. Dusty had a great time. One of my favorite places. Thanks!
