We get colored snow often through the winter here in the Midwest around the Sensient manufacturing co in St Louis, you see they make food dye and is the largest dye maker in the world with plants all over the world. Some time a malfunction scrubber (as they call it) releases dye into the atmosphere and it comes down with the snow and rain but with the rain it continuously wash away. On days in the summer our vehicle's get dusty but often the dust is mixed with dye and when you wash the car you can see it, it's very light but it is still dye.

I have learnt about this.... in this year This phenomena is due to chylmydomonas nivalis which form hypnospores of red colour... this species is a chryophytic algae.

It is not a mystery. It is quite common in the higher mountains around the world.

It's hard to take any environmental scientist seriously who takes dogs out into wilderness areas, unleashed no less, and allows the dog to walk through the streams. Dogs cause incredible harm to wilderness areas. What will it take to reconcile this depressing paradox?
