I was fortunate to have the opportunity to lead a team of writers to write a 1 act play! This was part of my school's "24 Hour Theatre" process.
We writers were given a list of various details we had to include in this play, then given 12 hours to write it. In those 12 hours, I led the team to focus on a detailed plot structure so the scriptwriting could come naturally and much easier. This part of the process was extremely difficult because of the unique criteria we were required to include. I'll list those inclusions below.
We spent about half of the night mapping out our storyline. When we were done with the basic plot, we made a detailed synopsis, adding an extra level of depth and security to our storyline.
Finally, when we finished the synopsis, we began the scriptwriting process.
The script included every single line of dialogue, a character summary, director notes, music cues, and tech directions.
I composed 3 original pieces for this play.
Here are the list of requirements we were given when the 12 hours began.
