The bolt forming the left eye, wasn't that one able to fit through the hole of the right eye? So you could use that one, upside down, as a longer screwdriver to screw the inner bolt down?

took me a while to realize the top of the "nut" looks a lot like another eye (with 3d effec) because of the ringlight mounted to the camera.. ;-)
