Thank you for resurrecting the entire name of the original band, “ the mystic knights of the Oingo Boingo,.“ I first saw them when they were playing on college campuses, literally the grass of the campus. I saw them go from the mystic knights, to rock ‘n’ roll, and finally music scores for movies. Danny Elfman is amazing. I’ll never forget him taking me by the hand, a shy, 19-year-old college boy, and getting me to dance in the midst of them all. His big, big smile.

Wow! A doowop version of Violent Love? Elfman's fascination with ska had not quite happened yet.

Favorite band ever. Saw them 11 times in the 80s including their 'last' show at the Universal Amphitheatre. It was always neat when Danny broke out into yodeling. Hearing this arrangement of Violent Love would have been mind-blowing!

Wow!! As a really old Oingo Boingo fan, Only a Lad is by far my favorite album. This is blowing my 53 year-old mind! Oingo Boingo concerts in 1980s SoCal ❤️❤️

I can relate, when i was a teenager in So/Cal, I was a fan and my future brother in law called me one night and asked when I was doing? He asked “you wanna go see Oingo Boingo? “Sure”! He said, we gotta hurry cause their playing at a small nightclub, and it wasn’t announced, no tickets required. W got there late because of the terrible tragic and were able to see the last few sets of songs, what a memory. Then years later, when Danny Elfman was doing soundtracks for films, I met him while I was working at Samy’s Camera. I kinda freaked him out because I was overly excited to meet him in person! He was nice but not the best looking dude, if you know what I mean! 😊
