The Mystical Bathala Cave | Marinduque | VLOG 55

Sta. Cruz is a town in the northeast of Marinduque. It is a popular tourist destination among locals for it boasts white sand beaches, sandbars , unique rock formations and caves. One of the oldest attractions of this municipality is the Bathala Cave located in Barangay Ipil. It is a complex cave system(8 caves) that only three of them are open to the public for conservation purposes. In 1881, an archaeological study conducted
by a French naturalist Alfred Marsche revealed relics like Chinese jarlets, wooden coffin fragments and human fossils that are believed to be from the prehistoric age.
The most prominent cave is the Church Cave which is said to be the dwelling place of Bathala (God) for it bears some images such as Virgin Mary, Christ the King and the Holy Spirit. Hence, it has been a place for worship for several sects. The second cave is deeper and darker which is guarded by pythons and has a ceiling of hundreds of giant bats, thus it was named Python Cave. And the third one, the Secret Cave, remained true to its name because of its concealed entrance covered with vines that fits only one individual at a time .

Were you are taking your dog for a walk? Also in the video you took me to a beautiful area. And you also let me watch what you saw with your eyes and camera and I found that very beautiful but also exciting with the beautiful music. I had read of this cave and knows now that It features large church-like interiors has, and also a archeological cave, and a python cave. I suspect there are also bats or other scary animals here.

The cave is full of bats, roaches and snakes and there are lots of areas that you need to crawl into. That dog was my guide's pet, maybe he is already familiar with the cave. Thanks Tine!
