Great video on a touchy subject lol. For me personally it doesn't bother me unless it affects the functionality of the knife. I'm more of a traditional guy with my knives so sometimes with stockman's or the like it can be an issue. Love the channel and content!!!!!

Centering is no deal breaker for me, but from mechanical background I believe the problem with centering in both modern and traditional knives as with gapping in traditional knives is the flattening process when matching or lack of flattening/parallel grinding! Thanks for the video! Hope you have a great rest of your week

Thank you for the comment, yes the process time of the blade to control heat warpage) is critical.

Never understood the absolute need for a centered blade. If there's no or little play and it isn't grinding against a scale every time it opens I really do not care

Ok this is ridiculous. You are absolutely right that the centering has nothing to do with it's ability to cut... But when you can pay $30 to $70 for a buck folding knife... And even more for a Henkel folding knife that doesn't exist anymore... THATS WHY! If you want a bolster then great! But make the pivot accessible and adjustable! The manufacturer should do a good job off the bat but if you are daily using it make sure its easily maintained. It should have great lock up with no blade play. That's what the most basic but good quality Chinese OEM's are doing without a bolster.... I understand the nostalgia but the POINTS😉 You are making are without merritt. Knife people know they can invest in much better than what you are showing.... Now if you only want and are only concerned with slip joint and Buck knives with a bolster then that's cool. Maybe I missed the point. If that's the case then call it that... Don't put Spyderco knives against bolster/slip joint knives.... Finally, DON'T PUT A FULLY SERRATED SPYDERCO AGAINST ANY OTHER NON SERRATED EDGE. EVEN IF IT IS ANOTHER SPYDERCO!?!?! As a knife enthusiast I hope that this is constructive criticism that can help build your channel... I wish nothing but the best for you, your family, and your channel.
