Seeing other comments saying that you should try the World of Outlaws game. I definitely agree! That game hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves! One of the best racing games to come out in the past couple years!

If you're running out of content I would personally love to see this again as another career mode. I know youve already done the career mode on this game atleast three times, however with this drastic and amazing mod this is the perfect recipe for another great classic series. You can even throw in some things like playing a character such as (just an example) being a Roush Racing affiliate 5th or 6th car (can't remember how many they were that year), or even someone thats just about to enter the series in real life but not yet (the most prominent example would be Truex Jr if he's not in the game).

Watching on lunch break here. First off thanks for making a video on this, really appreciate the coverage and the excellent explanation of the whole thing! To answer some things. Qualifying is not (currently) affected by the ratings. Paint schemes are randomly picked by the game from the available ones, it's always done this. (I do plan making a way to lock the paints down and swap them for what was run in the real race easily) Currently the excel only affects the stats and the total # of paints used. The # of laps I had set to 20% race length when you select 25%. Daytona to 1000 laps, I think there is a numeric limit the game has but I haven't tried meme values yet. Thanks again for covering it, the tools will get easier to use in time I promise.

PS the only big thing I don't think you mentioned is that, when we have enough texture packs, you can swap the roster between seasons in career or season mode and basically race through time accurately

PPS if you want race now to be more competitive you may want to change the season dropdown on the roster tab to Yr3 or Yr4 at least

I heard 2005 mod was getting an update as well so maybe we getting this stuff which is awesome i know the guy was working on getting names and stats working because that was a Major hurdle for these tiburon games but seems like actually having free reign of editing has been figured out

One of the 48 cars wasn't ready for release yet by the painter and was in the pack by mistake. Any 2005 paints were part of the pack in general, they will be cleaned up and limited to just the year of the pack in the future.

Radman, load up the PS2 main menu in the emulator like you would on a real PS2 and change the system to widescreen. In NT2003, it was a selectable option, but for the PS2 version of NT2004 it's controlled by the system itself. It'll make your game look less stretched and run in 16:9 instead of stretched 4:3.

This. I figured this out back in 2014, shortly after buying my PS2. I just didn't like using it in NASCAR 06 because it always killed my framerate (on actual hardware that is).

The Kyle Busch 84 car is not actually a Busch car it's a cup car he DNQ'ed a few races in that paint scheme

The game treats 'busch' drivers as part time and 'cup' drivers as full time. So the packs set any cup driver who started majority of the races as 'cup' in the game, and the rest as 'busch' to give some of that variety in the race field.

It actually doesn't do anything differently. Not sure where the mapping is for 'same car #' when it doesn't let multiples on track. That said though, you can set everyone to legend and go race in season/career and there won't be anyone else on track (or just 1 other car, if the game tries to correct it)
