My brother in law would have been standing and saluting the flag with tears streaming down his face!!!!!! He loved our country that he joined the Army and fought in Vietnam. He was blown up and sustained third degree burns on the left side of his body and ended up with 3rd degree burns and heart issues for the rest of his life. He passed away 7 years ago this September. He loved our Country and what we stand for. He would have loved this, even though he was part of the clown donkey show. This was beautiful. We need to bring back the Pledge of Allegiance back to our school system!!!! All these people have also shown their love for our country as well. Thank you all for honoring our beautiful country and what we stand for. ❤❤❤

As a female veteran, I served between ‘68-72 proudly! I have been teaching my granddaughter and grandson the proper flag national anthem etiquette as I taught my children! We were at a parade and as the flag came into view my 7 yr grandson stood straighter,placed his hand over his heart and said “God Bless America” and a woman made a nasty noise. He remained in salute position until after the flag passed by. He turned to the woman and quietly said “shame on you!” Several people around us began to clap and cheer! I was so proud of him. Shortly after this another flag was presenter but this time a lot of people copied my grandson! ✝️God Bless America, May our flag🇺🇸 forever wave proudly! This was a very beautiful rendition of our national anthem, brings tears every time I hear it!

I know I'm gonna catch all kinds of hate for this but I don't like these over produced, screaming loud, rambling, Hollywood renditions of what is supposed to be a simple expression of conviction for what our flag represents - like the young man represented in the 'pinned' comment. This hype is disrespectful to a sombre remembrance. What is the difference between this and that horrible RED/BLACK State of the Nation debacle that Biden presented us with a while back ?? They were both a ridiculous act of over-kill. One was an act of treason, the other hyper commercial patriotism. My first reaction to the lone Anthem disaster at the MLB Home Run Derby recently, was to lambast her for showing up, stoned out of her gourd, but this dog and pony show made me re-think what she put herself through to attempt to fulfill her obligation. She deserved a supportive arm afterwards to guide her to a place of rest after that battle for giving it everything she had and completing her mission. I now see the mess that alcohol addled country singer presented us with in a different light. Her effort deserves more respect than this pompous circus act. Her utter failure to produce as intended was terrible but at least her performance was an 'all she had' effort when the chips were down. She did it with out any support and didn't give up. She reminded me of a soldier carrying a war torn American flag, pushing through a loosing battle field, to the bitter end - win or lose. I blame those clowns who made the choice to send her out with a mic in her hand, knowing she was going to fail - very much like what Obama's regime did to Biden in his worst hour in the debate. It put me in mind of the democrat, CLINTON produced, Benghazi slaughter. Those men ended up looking pretty disheveled but they fought it out to its conclusion (pretty much everyone dead) due to a pompous arse politician who has never been held accountable. That young lady did what this National Anthem is about - not a bunch of purdy boys, prancing around with guns and flags, a polished musical production behind them and some woman screaming an unrecognizable version of a song we all know and love AS IS - she completed her mission in the face of adversity. Isn't that our creed ??? I love Pres Trump as much as the next guy but, (IDK about you) this RNC exhibition of pretentious patriotism isn't my vision of America. It comes off as phony and insincere. Our family has a total of 14 Veterans and Active Duty members who served from Persian Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and here in our own land. Several were injured with permanent disabilities. I instantly recognized the intro ... this was the arrangement sung by Sandi Patty in 1986 at the 100th year anniversary and rededication of the Statue of Liberty❣️ That performance and this one were absolutely exhilarating - and yep, I teared up at both. I was blessed to sing this incredible arrangement with our First Baptist Church choir for an Independence Day concert in a large shopping mall in the mid 1990's in Plano Texas, complete with orchestra. The accoustics were suprisingly fantastic. I was one of the few ladies who could perfectly pitch and hold those high notes. Just singing this arrangement touched my heart and soul in a way I can not explain. I will never forget the thrill of singing this rendition and how it blessed me, nor will I ever forget the obvious way it touched the hearts of well over a thousand people in the audience. ❤Dear Lord, please bless and keep our America a land of freedom, high morals, and sincere compassion for others. They knew there were exceptions to the rule. George Washington even spoke to that when he addressed his army before crossing the river to fight what could have been that last battle. He talked to them about the 'summer warriors' and 'fair weather patriots' as opposed to the men in front of him who were the true, down to the bone, last effort winter fighters. Most of them were at the end of their conscription and their enthusiasm for a 'losing cause' and due to go home at that moment and weren't going to get paid for any effort beyond that. They re-joined the fight on Washington's word that he would get them paid to keep going and their loyalty to his leadership. The fight that morning was the do-or-die, win-or-quit moment of the revolution. It was a surreal moment when I stood up to pledge allegiance to the America flag, which I can proudly say our American flag on that day, one of the most important days of my life. Tears ran down my face at that time, and every time I do, ever since. Every time we sing our National Anthem, I remember our patriots, the man who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today here in the most beautiful country of the world, The United States of America.
