These early shows were very ropey. Bringing it to TV Centre saw it develop a much better production quality. Back then, the BBC thought that the lottery draws would be a natural ratings success and ITV were initially terrified by the threat it posed. The numbers would overlay Blind Date within seconds of being announced, in order to prevent channel hopping. Then the ITV news would have a special short bulletin during the next ad break to give a proper announcement of the result. Compare that to today, the BBC themselves can barely be bothered to show the draw. I believe there is an audience to be gained from the lottery draws, but rarely has a show been produced which fully taps in to that potential.

Have you got a clip from the Lottery with Bob Monkhouse saying "If you didn't won anything, there's always next week." ?

@MisterLottery I used to live in Huddersfield but what you're asking, the answer is no.

Hi MisterLottery. The lottery programme that was shown the weekend before this programme actually took place in Huddersfield. At the start, it shows the Huddersfield train station. Do you have that programme and the draw in it?
