High above the scenic contours of the Yukon River the city of White Horse marks the largest population centre in all of Northern Canada. A modern and thriving community, surrounded by a lush mountainous landscape White Horse is located 1500 kilometres northwest of Vancouver. The city has been home to First Nations groups like The Southern Tutchone peoples for thousands of years. Today, White Horse is a hub of culture, employment, and transportation and is home to more than 25,000 year-round residents.

I worked in Carmacks in the mid 90's, and since then, the Yukon has been calling me. Leaving (moving) from Southern BC soon, to go back to the Yukon! I know it's been along time, but boy do I miss being there! See ya soon 👍

Coincidentally,I am watching this on the day February 7, the same date that rescue plane crashed sixty years ago. Thank you for sharing this rich picturesque and informative documentary. Watching from Pickering, Ontario. I am in awe!

Once you experience the North, it will always call for you! "The call of the North" as they say! It's not calling me, it's yelling at me to go there! And that's where I'm moving to.

Bring lots of bug spray and a headnet as well as insect itch relief ointment. Or...go when snow covers the ground and the temperature doesn't go much above freezing (Oct.-April).
