The Natural Human is the second film in a series based on my Effortless Living audiobook. In this film I explore what it truly means for a human to be as nature intended us to be, essentially embodying the naturalness we all have within, with no external form of governance needed. The order and pattern of nature is not a forced order, as nature is not bound by external influence or control. The Taoist term for nature is the Chinese tzu-jan (ziran), which means that which is spontaneously of itself. When a natural organism is in harmony with all life, it grows of itself spontaneously. Tzu-jan can only arise of itself without external compulsion. Tzu-jan is the essence of the yoking process found within the spiritual core of many religions, and especially in the origins of Chinese and Indian wisdom. When we withdraw from our conditioned perception of reality, we come back into nature and grow spontaneously in harmony with all other components of life. What would happen if we let go of control? When we leave the animal, plant, and mineral kingdoms alone, they continue to grow and prosper without any interference. What would happen, then, if we left people alone?

Anarchy when seen through the eyes of Proudhon (the so called Father of Anarchism) seems far more in line with tzu-jan than I've ever thought of.

The core idea that harmony emerges if living beings are left to chose their own paths without interference is, I think, totally valid. However, do not overlook the fact that this has already occurred, and is constantly recurring, as all living things are in fact already free to act as they will. We are already in a state of grace; this is what it looks like.

@bobo tea Thank you for your thought. What you write makes me wonder what type of freedom you had in mind? (E.g. It seems to me different meanings are applied to the word 'freedom'. For me there are many levels of freedom, for instance individual freedom, the freedom(s) of parts or subsystems of the individual and the freedom(s) of aggregated systems of living and non-living things. In another way of seeing there are other dimensions of freedom, for example spiritual, political, economic or intellectual freedoms. My original thought when posting was about the natural unfolding of living individual/environment systems, an harmonious process which I see as being immune from 'interference', as any 'interfering' factor is by definition an integral part of the system itself and so cannot 'interfere' as it is (and has the right to be) fully involved in the choices made. In that way of seeing freedom can, as I see it, be taken for granted, as it cannot be taken away - although that way of seeing is I admit a fairly 'spiritual' perspective.) Thank you again, all the best.

This is a good point, though I struggle with it. The problem to overcome, IMO, is self consciousness. We can't be natural, in the sense of being aligned with the ways of the universe, by being told to be so. The moment we are told (or decide) to be natural, or free, or spontaneous, etc., it becomes impossible to be so. The mind has to find a way to operate at a different level, away from conditioning and the prison of our own thoughts.

@@chmd22 Thank you for contributing to this discussion, it's helpful. I too struggle with these points. In this case, I wonder about the validity of distinguishing between conditioning (or 'being told to do' something) and any other (valid) input or feedback from our environment. E.g. In the way I see it, a plant grows, in it's own way, as best it can within it's environment, whether influenced by good weather or bad, whether pruned or not - that weather or pruning is natural feedback, aligned with the ways of the universe; To me it also seems that our minds (as a valid, integral part of ourselves) grow and change, in their own way, as best they can within their environment, whether conditioned or not, whether told to do this, or that, or not - that conditioning, or telling, is also simply natural feedback, aligned with the ways of the universe. To me it seems natural for humans to grow towards self-consciousness and self-awareness. And also natural for humans to think, and to apply that thinking to whatever they chose, or to suspend that thinking and have time in states of though-free-ness instead. I find also that it is natural to cycle through all these states, to discover the benefits and problems of each, and then to chose freely which state is most helpful for me at any given time. To be aware of oneself and of the beauty of the world can be a joy; but to have times of peace or oneness with others and the world can also be a joy; it can be helpful to think a situation through and decide what do do, it can also be helpful at times to act spontaneously by instinct or intuition. To me, all this seems natural for humans - aligned with the natural ways of humans and of the universe - and a simple part of our freedom to be, within our environment, as we chose to be, as best we can. I hope that helps, or at least shares some fellow-feeling feedback into your own life. Best regards, peace to all.

It’s really hard to let go of control and listen to nature (my body and feelings) and just go with nature’s way (because all the conditionings I’ve had) but I will really try my best for this whole universe

If we leave people to live as they want, SOME people will impose their own will on others for their own benefit. That is why some form of government is always necessary in order to protect those "who leave others to live as they want" against those "who do not leave others to live as they want". Very simple.

Thank you for sharing the messages, I am deeply appreciative. It is an ancient teaching of Tao full of living energy, and it is so advanced, so humanitarian, and human current civilizations all over the world can't catch up with this teaching. We collectively take pleasure in advancement of civilization.n But we become more and more degenerated, and collectively driving closer and closer to the common perils of destroying itself completely. We are collectively facing the tidal waves which is picking up its rushing speed to hit upon the entire world. It seems the doom day is eagerly waiting at the immediate corner!!!

Thank you for this much needed message! I strive to practice this on a personal level, but where do we stand when it comes to inter personal responsibility? Specifically, when there's injustice being done to others to such a degree that they're unable to become spiritually realized beings for themselves, when they're crippled by suppression or even killed? Should we intervene then? Maybe you've addressed this is another video. If so, please direct me to it. Thank you ❤️

I agree we need to leave people alone but there r a few people that need to go before we can do that ... Some people just dont know how to leave things alone (gates) and others with money ... Money/greed makes evil .. All we need is food water and air and shelter ... If we come together with a good idea, we will make it happen . we dont need money, we need good people. Then good things will happen

If left to their personal nature there will always be bad players. We either use the force of society to rein in some or we live like animals with the strong eating the weak. To assume that everyone will be enlightened and work for the common good is naive.

Where there are prey there are predators. It might be fine to allow yourself and others to fulfil their nature without imposed restrictions from above but it will never work in human societies. The true nature of many people is warped, traumatized and opportunistic. People in general are not usually trustworthy and when provided the mere opportunity to be troublesome and odious they will be so. I am happy we have a structured burocracy, otherwise life would be a “Mad Max” world!

To change the world or go back to nature is to change human kind. You say you are a good person and live a good life, but most of you will walk pass a homeless person and hope he doesn't ask you for something. People are not taught to be still/quiet but instead to fight; run, move because life will eat you up if you don't and because of this we are inevitably doomed as civilization.🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful idea, but I don't think enough people are evolved enough to live in peace with others on their own accord. There are many truly demented and dangerous people in this world, especially here in The United Corporation's of America with our government's economic hunger games. Heck, my neighbors aren't even considerate enough to stop their kids from running and jumping in their apt, which is really loud because the apartments are connected and have terrible particle board floors. I can hear people walking!! When the kids run and jump it sounds like someone is bowling next door. I've asked nicely for them to please keep it down, but these millennial parents can't get off their phones long enough to take care of their kids, to take them outside, which they almost never do.
