This is really eye-opening. As someone steeped in class-conscienceness, the idea of workers and corporations not in opposition took a moment to think about, but obviously all rightly-ordered parts of society should not be at odds with each other. Thank you, Archbishop Lefevre and SSPX, for making this available.

In the 1960s, when people read Pius IX say that confessionally neutral states would inevitably devolve into anti Catholic despotism, he looked like a madman. Today he looks like a prophet.

Is it possible for Archbishop L one day to be canonized if Sspx is reconciled with Rome and he is the founder of the Order or is it always impossible since he died excommunicated? Aren't excommunication being declared void retroactively a thing?
@joeybodnar2 жыл бұрын
He was never excommunicated. they said he had by his actions, excommunicated himself, which we know isnt true. If we didnt know it back then, we definitely know it now.

@@joeybodnar well if he did latae sentiae excommunication(I think that's what it is..not sure), that is excommunicated himself by his actions, then in a way he was excommunicated, or outside the Church, just not formally, or with formal recognition, bell, book, candle, etc... but even the 2+ hour video here on the sspx KZbin channel talks about all this stuff and the different degrees..the only reason I ask is it seems as if that's what they did with now "ST". Joan of Arc. Previously, being excommunicated and bured at the pyre.

Archbishop Lefebvre was in no real, objective sense "excommunicated". There is a video on the Defeat Modernism channel wherein the late Fr. Malachi Martin states quite matter of factly that no one in Rome believes he died an excommunicate. He was of the opinion that a future generation will release a public statement about such an understanding being in error, and the matter will die.

@@PeterJRaia Either he is or isn't. Some one making a statement in the future doesn't change his current or eternal state.
