These are remarkably well written. I've had a pet rabbit before and the prey species of the Federation think and behave as irrationally and mindless as a rabbit. It's a nice touch that the prey species only see one form of violence as evil, and lack the introspection necessary to see any evil within themselves. They're all victim mentality types without any real empathy. They also lack self control and the ability to suppress their animal natures. Whereas predator species have learn to suppress their natures, otherwise they would eat friend and children. The prey species have never learned to suppress their instinctive fear. They've never had to repress running or panic, and therefore they don't know how to place thinking before feeling. Like I said, surprisingly well written.

I’m new to this I posted a little ago but your right these prey species are far more dangerous many of them have instinctive fear because of this war and because it is genetically ingrained fight or flight response that because of this war in the story and IRL because of the uncompromising state of nature aka the “law of the jungle” they have no empathy and can be more dangerous then predators because even predators will back away if sufficiently confronted.

Training is going to be intersting. Before and during WW1, horses were trained to get used to gunfire and some explosions. The alien's training will be interesting.
