*okay biggest FAQ to address that my essay doesn't make clear: I only set out to reset the FIRST trade of a player. so KD being traded to PHX got reset, but I didn't go further to reset the trade (sign and trade) that sent him from Golden State to Brooklyn. In some cases, a different player MAY HAVE ignited a second trade of a player, ie: James Harden's trade to PHI was reset, then his trade to BKN was reset because of Jarrett Allen getting to Cavs via that trade. Make sense? Maybe? Idk lol... anyways!* *”Jay Canada Trades Reset” or search JayCanada10 to find the roster! Only on PS5* Okay, here goes the “very detailed explanation” of how I built this roster lol, this is gonna get confusing I apologize in advance. Starting at the 76ers, I went through an updated version of the current NBA, and each player (of note, I ignored some depth pieces I’ll be honest) that arrived on their current team via trade - I searched the details of that trade, and marked them down to be reset. For example: James Harden was on the 76ers, had been traded for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry and Andre Drummond… so I marked that down with the date (February, 2022) After finding rough 70-80 trades of note, with all necessary player details included, I re-arranged my list to organize the trades in chronological order, from July 2023 back through February 2017. From there, I simply went down the entire list starting most recent, and put players back on the teams from which they were traded. Obviously, quite a few players have been moved more than once (freakin’ Robert Covington comes to mind), but again, I went chronologically from one move to the next. Now the confusing parts: I included players traded as future 1st round picks, because it introduced more chaos (Luka for Trae for example) even though yes, maybe that doesn’t make complete sense. I mean especially in the case of Tatum for Fultz at the 2017 Draft, those were specifically two draft picks being traded not players… but whatever, I included it! I did make a cut-off though, if a player was traded as a pick (or for players I guess) and it happened long enough ago that most pieces of the deal aren’t in the NBA anymore, I didn’t include it. For example: Damian Lillard was technically traded as a future 1st round pick by the Nets in like 2012 or something, but no other parts of the trade are still in the league, so that seemed like a stretch. Also, and this might be the most important part: I didn’t keep going back and back and back as I traded players around, each trade had to have a link to the current NBA rosters. So Russell Westbrook for example… I put him back on the Lakers as part of that giant trade, because it’s how Jarred Vanderbilt (among others) landed on the Lakers this season - so that trade had to be reset, right? Then I reset the original Westbrook to Lakers trade, because when I got to Washington’s roster, Kyle Kuzma was there, and he arrived in Washington as part of that trade - so boom, reset! But that’s where the Russ train ends. He was previously traded from Houston for John Wall, but I had already reset a more recent John Wall trade, so both links to that trade were gone. Hence, Russell Westbrook stayed on Washington, and John Wall is actually a free agent. Having a trade link to the current roster is also how Kawhi ended up back in San Antonio like I outlined in the video. When I got to Keldon Johnson on the Spurs, I had to reset the trade that brought him there, meaning it bypassed Kawhi signing with the Clippers. I think there were a few other quirky examples like this… actually yes, Jimmy Butler. I reset his trade from Philly to Miami, as well from Chicago to Minnesota. But I bypassed his trade from Minnesota to Philly because there weren’t any direct links that came up in the current NBA roster. Anyways, I probably made like 10 mistakes anyways because of how convoluted the rules I made up for my own video are, but hey, what can you do! I end up being way too thorough for my own good when making these videos lol. I explained everything above… but in this case, I reset KD’s trade to Phoenix, D-Lo’s trade to LA, AND his trade to MIN. I didn’t keep going back with players unless I had to (was prompted by a different player). So that’s why KD and D-Lo ended up where they ended up!

I didn’t *keep* resetting players after their first trade, unless other players required it. So if Trey Lyles needed to have that 2017 trade reset, Donovan also would’ve gotten reset back to Denver. But Lyles has been traded since then. It’s confusing I know, but I had to cut things off somewhere 😭
