All season they highlighted Russ's screw ups at key moments during crunchtime in games all while not bothering to mention the 2-3 possession before those scapegoated plays where Lebron took an ill advised 3PA early in the shot clock, turned the ball over, or blew a defensive assignment (his defense hasn't been good since the last time he played in CLE). This happened numerous times throughout the season. Whatever people might say, Russ improved/ made easier Jokic's production. Being able to score at will, from anywhere on the floor is something we all know Jokic is capable of, but scoring a few easy looks, especially when playing unfavorable matchups, shouldn't get overlooked. That's what Russ does for them. Much better to feed Jokic, when his true shooting is around 65-75%, than it is for Jok to keep dishing the ball, only to see them missing more than making, every damn game. That's why I enjoy watching Russ man, he's relentless in his efforts to find an open guy. End of season, whatever happens, hopefully Russ stays (with a better contract honestly). Denver gets another backup big (the likes of Valenciunas) and a decent 3 and d player.

KD isn’t a type of player to take a lot of shots , every team after okc his FG attempts have gone down per season even with the nets . He’s a high efficient shooter that doesn’t want to take a lot of shots , it’s time to end that stupid narrative. Younger Russ was doing all the things you see here , perfect example is the steal on Kobe with the and 1 layups in the playoffs vs the lakers in 2010. This isn’t anything new , you just follow narrative and regurgitate them like it’s a fact 😂
@animeanime784917 күн бұрын
That was a very different situation. Unless you expected Durant to take like 40 shots a game it wouldn’t make sense for Russ to be passive in the old OKC days. The team would have been genuinely worse if their second best player and 2 best scorer was taking 10-15 shots a game. Not to mention it’s not like he hogged the ball from KD. KD isn’t an aggressive scorer, KD plays passively for the most part unless he’s forced to be more aggressive or starts to get a rhythm. Having your 2 superstars both be passive when they are expected to carry a vast majority of the scoring load doesn’t sound good.
