It's not like they're going to replace the NBA nets with that. It's more for public courts to save on costs of maintaining them and keeping them bare without any nets for most of the year.

When is the NBA going to bring the game back to what is was in the beginning? Dr. Naismith designed the court and basket height for men who averaged 5’7”. Now the average NBA players average 6’9”. That is a 21% increase. All dimensions of the court should be increased by 21%. That would raise the basket height to 12’1”. Only a handful of NBA players would be able to dunk the ball. Also, get rid of the 3-point shot
