I've been watching his career since his college days---Football & Baseball, Phenomenal Athletic Talent---Simple, that can Translate to Coaching as well but not all the time. Sometimes a person may not have the talent to handle everything that has to be taken care of to make it happen, He has it & I believe ANY Blowback he receives is most likely jealousy or those same people just think He's Cocky or Both!----But like Kid Rock said in his song "Cocky": "It ain't Cocky MF'er if you Back It Up"!(Mic Drop-Boomp, Boomp)

The recruits can tell if a Coach is real or not which is why "they" are afraid. You see Jalen Hurts left Bama when he got benched and never looked back. You're right, we have totally different life experiences and Coach Prime can relate. He came up through the concrete to make sure he took care of his Mama and family.
@brucetucker4847 Жыл бұрын
But Hurts didn't leave because he didn't like the coach, he left because he was benched. And Colorado can't have any more starting players than anybody else. No decent player is going to leave a starting position at a P5 school to warm the bench for Sanders.

With Prime, it's irrespective of color. He can connect with many groups of people and their kids. Alejandro Mata is a great example of someone who wasn't even a football player to being his place kicker at Jackson State and followed him to Colorado. He's 1 of 1 on extra points, so far. White kids, black kids, Hispanic kids, Asian kids... he will resonate with a large portion of them, and they will run through walls for him. He pulls people up.

I get it. I was in USMC boot camp with lots of white guys who's relationships with their fathers were not good or nonexistent. All of our drill instructors were black (one Hispanic), and those white (and black) recruits took to them, looked up to them and LISTENED to their every word just as much as the us black recruits. Our drill instructors were similar to a coach, because they're always teaching us something, mentoring us, looking out for our well being while pushing us to our physical, mental and emotional limits in attempt to making us well disciplined United States Marines. Young men gravitate towards that type of structure, discipline, training, mentoring, firm and fair interaction, so yeah, I understand why these young men gravitate towards Prime and his group of "Drill Instructors" coach members.

It WAS a problem, that's why we got the transfer portal. No more recruiting 5-star prospects only to have them warm a bench all season - they'll transfer someplace where they'll get playing time. And Sanders is plainly a great recruiter and is now showing himself to be a great coach, but he doesn't have any more starting spots on his roster than any other coach has. If he recruits great players and then benches them they'll transfer out as quick as he got players to transfer in this year.

Coach Prime has "flipped the script" when it comes to NCAA football. Look for the NCAA to change the transfer rules next year. The recycled "good old ol' boys" fraternity that has ruled Power 5 college football coaching for DECADES is at risk of coming to an end. He can do what FEW coaches in the POWER 5 can. Communicate, motivate, teach, inspire, and empathize with young athletes on a WHOLE other level. ESPECIALLY those who are African Americans who make up the MAJORITY of players. The ONLY way to COUNTER what Sanders is doing in Colorado is to hire QUALIFIED, credible, leaders who are African Americans to attract the players in your program that you want and need. He ain't coming, he's HERE!

The game reminded me of when an Integrated USC team played an All white Alabama team in 1970. After Sam ‘Bam’ Cunningham and USC spanked Alabama 42-21 in Birmingham, coach Bear Bryant said enough with this racism. We can’t win without Black players. In 1971 John Mitchell from Mobile and Wilber Jackson became the first two Black players to play football for a Southern PWI. The rest is history just like what Prime is doing at Colorado over a half Century later. Racist didn’t like it then but winning made it acceptable. The smart Power5 ADs will realize that there are also other quality HBCU coaches available. The question always becomes is continuing racism more important than being prudent?🤔

Stop it lol. Coach was hired by white men and has his every beckon call tended to. Im a huge DS fan but knew his success via hard work and discipline would be spun. What DS is doing at CU is a mindset! He is old school, taught by a tough one named Bobby Bowden. His success here is just like Bobbys or Jimmy Johnsons, Sabans Belichik or Parcells. Those coaches are the type that dont mess around. DS is old school just like Jimmy was and it gets results fast, prood is already there. He is a tough love type that includes no babying, no safe pods and none of that junk you see with youth today. You pull your weight everyday and youre good, if not youre gone. Semper Fidelis

And I dont care if one is green, purple, orange, whatever...There s only one DS as of now and is a winner everywhere. He doesnt tolerate mediocrity or losing because he didnt as a player as well. People can sniff out true leaders that have fight in them and no there arent many. Take JS for example, got spanked this weekend. Sure they lost some players but come on. Why did that happen? DS is gone and he is irreplaceable in a program and thats the bottom line. Semper Fidelis

The more flak PWI programs attempt to throw at the Prime Effect, the more they’ll highlight HBCUs. The Prime Effect is applying pressure, erry’where! Coaches will need to be present & involved with intensity. The institutions will need to share the revenue via NILs with the Student Athletes. You make an excellent point about HBCUs. So while they may not have PWI $$, the Prime effect may still occur at the HBCUs bc young Black athletes want to be coached by Black men and women to whom they can relate. It's already occurring academically. With the pandemic and George Floyd unrest, many academically-gifted and intelligent students (like my son) elected to attend HBCUs instead of PWI to protect their mental health and be in a safe space and place in their college years. Go look at the stats, during the pandemic and just before (when the debate was about student loan debt), overall enrollment at PWIs fell, but enrollment at HBCUs rose significantly. So guess what? Congress (GOP-led House) want to change the rule for Pell grants. The GOP-led states sued to stop Biden from forgiving student loans bc minorities would have benefitted the most thus creating opportunities for more generational wealth for college educated Black families. You are SO CORRECT! This is way bigger than college football.

No they sued because we are not in a dictatorship and the President does not have the authority to forgive billions of $ of debt.
