Forget ancient history, even the almost contemporary indian freedom movement taught to us in schools was distorted and biased to suit the dynasty. For eg the Moplah revolt and massacre of hindus or the muslim league sponsored 1946 massacre of hindus in Bengal never found a place in the history taught to us , nor the duplicity of Nehru and Gandhi in relation to these macabre events. Nor was there any mention of Gandhi and Nehru's proverbial intolerance when it came to patriotic leaders like Patel, Bose, Ambedkar etc and the harm it caused to India, thanks to this eminent historian. She wants us to believe her scholarship and honesty with regard to her version of ancient history . LOL . She colluded with the dynasty to make the children believe India was civilised by invaders and colonialists and Gandhi and Nehru won the freedom. Now when the hidden truths surface , this fake historian and this anti India channel try to politicise it and play victims. The Saraswaty river which was in ancient writing but now clear evidence appears of its existence. Clearly the ancient writings is factual for various events but some historians keep talking of mythology. Romila Thapar "History is essential for the purpose of Political Ideology". Then she talks about 1930s and 40s ideology of Sangh etc how they believed that Bharat as the land of history and all are aborigines, which was proved to be wrong in later Historians. I believe she was referring to AIT or AMT. Then, none were able to provide concise evidence that it happened 2000 years before CE. This theory seem in compliance with European beliefs that Nova's Arch and any life that existed on this planet before that event was wiped off. This is what is writing history serving the purpose of Political or Theological. In the recent past, there were DNA studies that show outward migrations that could as well provide answers to the commonality in Indo-European linguistics. It is just embarrassing to read all the comments here, not shocking because it is expected in the current climate. If you are okay with the representation of the muslim rulers in the history books you are a so called liberal and anti national.. yes we are accepting of the fact that the muslim invdors did destroy and loot many thing when they invaded the subcontinent. But we also acknowledge the fact that many of them who settled here did achieve many good things. Just as we are accepting of this we are also accepting of the valor and administrative achievements of the Mauryas, cholas, pandyas, rajputs, marathas etc. And of the Indian National Congress, Bhagat Singhji, Sukhdev ji, Chandra Sekhar Azad ji, Subash Chanra Boseji and many others for there contribution. As for the current government they donot have a history to claim of their own. If they achieve greatness they too shall and should be immortalized in history. Though I am a person who doesnt believe in their way of thinking I would never want their achievements to be disregarded and hushed aside ever....Something which some are trying to do to important figures of our collective past.
