I don't believe they've come down as of 10/30. I'll keep everyone updated in the comments.

@@F59PHI ah ok interesting! Well than they’re not far from going down. Hence forth the meaning of title. But if you go to 29:14 it’ll explain that “they’ll be retired rather soon”

Dang, I still remember when Fullerton station had searchlight signals. They were a lot more common back then. Good times. Interesting too that the snow hood variant has become the default throughout the system for color signals. I remember they used to only be found in more mountainous regions, and the default was having three separate visors for each light.

Can someone explain whats going on here?
@TSRP_65242 ай бұрын
@@blaazer9473 yes, I can. So these here you see in most of the clips are what are famously known as classic “Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe” era railroad owned searchlight’s which are located in Riverside County. The reason behind the making of this film was/is to document the last moments of them before they retire them in replacement of newer FRA type railroad aspects signaling posts, which you can also see directly next to the older one’s. Still hasn’t been classified yet on the exact date on the unfortunate demise of these “pieces-of-history-antiques” but heard rumors that sometime in Fall 2024 they be gone for good.
