Live at Loch Earn, Scotland, performing "The Nessie Song", an original song that I wrote in Scotland, during the days when I was visiting the area of the famous Loch Ness lake, in search for the famous Nessie, the Loch Ness monster.
Music and lyrics by Federico Borluzzi, 2019 - © 2024
Filmed on May 4, 2019.
Performed with Yamaha GL1 Guitalele and Hohner Bluesband harmonica in the key of C.
Loch Ness is a large freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 37 kilometres (23 miles) southwest of Inverness. It takes its name from the River Ness, which flows from the northern end. Loch Ness is best known for claimed sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie". It is often described as large, long-necked, and with one or more humps protruding from the water. Popular interest and belief in the creature has varied since it was brought to worldwide attention in 1933, but its first written description dates by the year 565 AD, in the memories written by Saint Columba, who attended the funeral of a man who had been said to have been killed by a huge best while swimming in the River Ness.

LYRICS:
THE NESSIE SONG
Oooh, won’t you tell me your name?
Oooh, won’t you show me your face?
I’m begging to know
Oooh, won’t you come out and see me?
Or else nobody else would believe me
If I talk about you
I see… I see he water is wide
But I don’t know why you still try to hide
I’m begging to know
Maybe your heart’s in the Highlands
And that’s why you’re in love with the silence
Oooh…. Now it’s time to come
Oooh, come out and show me your face
Then you… You will leave without a trace
I… I’m waiting for you
I ask you please, please, please, please…
(HARMONICA)
I’m walking in through the shadows
I’m walking in through the meadows
I’m begging to know
So please, please come and see me
Please, then I will not bother
It’s time to go out
For today we’ll be finally meeting
Yeah, today I’ll send you my best greetings
And then you can leave without a trace
I’m waiting for you
Oh, please, please, please, please
(HARMONICA)
