I hope this song is about his wife and mother of his children Joel who had been with him since they were teens Long before his success. I know his beloved passed away of cancer after well over 40 plus years of marriage in early 2000's. It makes me so sad to think about the pain he said he felt. I too went through the same in 09 when my husband of 25 years passed away. I love the Neville brother's music so much. Rest in paradise Mrs Joel Neville. 🙏
