As someone who went from a purchased new 23 MDX to currently driving a 24 ZDX, I will tell you that the whole “I’m not paying for a reskinned GM and no Acura quality” argument is ridiculous. My ZDX is built just as well, if not better in some ways than my MDX. The MDX I traded in had a rear window that rattled whenever it was open and a wireless charger that never worked. My wife’s purchased new 21 RDX had weatherstripping that always came off and had to be reapplied. My ZDX is rattle free and has never failed me. It’s quiet, fast, and while you may be scared about the range, it’s always within 10-12 miles of accuracy of the range gauge on the dash, so charge jt every now and then and you’ll be fine. I’ve been driving mine for nearly two weeks without it getting plugged in. If you’re thinking about it, don’t hesitate. If you’re balking at the price, go get a Tesla like everyone else.

Would you share more details about ownership? Payment? I can't find real ownership experience. I have been considering getting a ZDX for months.
@Strudelwagon3 ай бұрын
@@antonioaguilar8694 I've had my ZDX for three months and it came after driving my '23 MDX for a year and a half and not being able to crack 20mpg on premium fuel despite doing mostly highway miles. So I knew I wanted to make a switch to an EV. I knew going into it that this was developed by GM, so I wasn't under any notion this was a Honda/Acura product. So I focused a lot of my research on the Lyriq since it shared the same battery pack and motor and I was comfortable with what I was hearing and decided to give it a shot. The car itself is essentially a Lyriq underneath with a combination of Acura specific parts plus parts from the Prologue and Blazer. But for all that everyone makes a big deal out of it, my MDX had plenty of switches that were in a Pilot. Everyone does it unless you're spending six figures on a bespoke car. You're paying for the technology, so you need to be comfortable with that when you're buying any EV. Comparing it to a gas car will get you nowhere. As for the ownership experience itself, it's been reliable for the time I've had it. I've had no software issues, charging it at home has been flawless and the limitations with the public ev network are because of the network, not the car, so I'm not going to fault it there. The range on the dash is pretty accurate and so I feel comfortable with what it says within about 15 -20 miles or so and I usually keep it charged to 80%. It's insanely quiet, the ride is very plush, and it handles decently - rides much better than my MDX ever did. In terms of payment, I had Acura loyalty, but right now they have conquest cash too so it's about the same thing. I did a 36 month lease, 15k miles a year and I'm in the high 500's, which is $200 a month less than I was paying on my MDX Tech. I probably could have gotten a better deal, but I've leased multiple cars from my dealer and want them to be able to make some profit too and it was still less than I was paying. At the end of the day, if you're leasing it there's almost no risk. It'll be covered under warranty and the residual is guaranteed. I really like it and would suggest you go for it if you're thinking about it. People who give it a hard time for not being a true Acura or say it's too expensive don't know the realities of leasing an EV with rebates anyway. I knew it was going into uncertain territory when I got it and now I can't wait to drive it every day. Go for it. You won't be disappointed.
@MidnightAspecАй бұрын
My 22 MDX - an early first year model, and our sixth MDX over the course of 15 years - was trouble free. I've driven the ZDX Type S but far too many GM touchpoints to keep my interest. Great EV in a vacuum but a hardpass on this 'SLX' until Honda comes out with their own version.

tbh, the achilles heal of any electric car that's not Tesla is the charging. Tesla chargers communicate with the car infotainment to tell you when to charge if you need it, you can also set it built into the gps directions. @@guy420manLook at Tom Mologney's charging review of the Blazer. It has a very low pack voltage which means it requires a lot of current which causes thermal throttling issues. The charge time on the Blazer is really poor. The Lyriq/Acura has more ultium packs in it than the Blazer which hopefully will bump the voltage, depending on how they are wired, which could make it better but it needs to be tested. It’s why they’ve been surpassed in sales by technologically inferior brands like Hyundai/Kia. Either hire some strong designers or shut the studio down and send the design work back to Japan.
