@@lender3000 The heat and A/C should be electric and run off the battery. The engine isn't used to heat the interior of the truck, as far as I am aware. Not to mention, the drag that the generator would put on the engine would be more than enough to keep it at operating temperature. I've owned a 2003 VW TDI.

Onboard charging from a V6 gas-powered engine. For what? Range? People don't travel /drive 1000 miles per day. And the engine can't power the truck, only charge? Also, is like 2 trucks in 1 with wiring, has twice the failure points in it with 2 systems. Gotta fill it with gas to charge it... like driving an ev with a generator strapped to it. This is stupid.

Ah yes and the stats and figures of this over weight truck gets less than 100 miles per tank over the approx estimated 690 that a 3.5 ecoboost gets with the extended range tank. That's the difference of 10 gallons of gas enjoy your new trucks boys with all that ineffency.

I’m so tired of Ford and they’re over boosted six. We have a power boost out running around now but will be replacing it with this platform ASAP. Although the 7.3 gas motor has been been good in the 1ton.

I'm down if I can afford it...HOwever, DEFINITELY should have used a 4 cyl diesel engine. It would have used 30% less fuel to charge.

Diesel cost is 30% higher so no real advantage depending on where you live. Its also not cost effective for Ram to build or source out a specific diesel for this application when they already had the Pentistar. Besides would just make the truck even more expensive up front to the customer. That Pentistar is cheap and easy to work on also.

Home charging and electric 90% of the time, gas for long ranges and towing 10% of the time. Great for rural people with time of day power 50 miles from a fast DC charger going to somewhere 200 miles from a fast DC charger.

Love the 27 gallon gas tank and 92 kWh battery. I see the units correction from "92 kW" to "92 kWh" as the capacity of the battery in big lettering in the video. Nice correction! Choice of trusty Pentastar engine is great, along with the 120V and 240V outlets. Now allow for power input from hefty solar panel array even while moving or from trailer connection, that would be sweet.

Smaller battery to lighten the weight. Maybe around 50 kWh size or so and offer an optional lager gas tank. I definitely am a buyer, but really could had used it more appropriately in a 3/4 ton or 1ton option. I know it heavy, we already deal with higher weights ranching so the bigger platform would have been nice. But we will be putting it to work right away. I hope it’s ready.

Or that it's only available in Limited, Laramie, and Laramie Long Horn trims. I wanted a new hybrid tundra but, it's not available in the SR5 configuration so you're forced to have to start at the limited trim.

Geez, Lets do the math. 690 range on 27gallon tank = 25miles per gallon. I got 33miles per gallon on my Ram Eco Diesel during a 3500 mile road trip driving + 5mph over speed limits 70 T0 80MPH. Truck is a 2022 Big Horn Level 2 trim. Rides like a sofa going down the road. Price of the truck 53000. So eliminating the Eco Diesel is foolish move. They should have created a hybrid version of the Eco Diesel. Once the EV mandate gets retracted maybe things will change. In the mean time dealers are having problems selling EVs due to the high costs and the interest rates for the normal Joe. Lets get real-we are all in big trouble with what is going on. VOTE OIL

You're missing the big picture. This is a PHEV with 140miles range all BATTERY before the engine turns on so as long as you're city driving, this truck will run circles around your ecodiesel with far less daily ownership cost. Now the occasional long road trip, your truck wins with ease.

So that means the engine is always running? Or Can we choose to just run the battery with out engine running? Normally I don't need to drive over 100km per day, if we able to run just electric, than I probably only need to refill my gas tank every 3 month or more. That will be perfect truck for me for daily or when I need to tow or on road trip.

Brilliant! Locomotives have been doing this for over 80 years. Finally the pickup industry is waking up. Got rid of the transmission, drive train, differential, transfer case, and all the maintenance associated with those items and replaced it with a simple reliable 6 cylinder engine connected to a generator charging batteries, and electric motors driving the wheels!

Can it hold charge while driving home from a supercharger and also charge at a standstill at 130kw to power a home microgrid? THAT would be epic. A timer or battery discharge percent like the silverado is all you would need. Or just have the truck start and stop once the battery is recharged. Im all in on the ramcharger if so.

It would be better if the Hemi V8 or a newer more fuel efficient V8 was also an option for the hybrid setup. Another missed opportunity Ram. This hybrid will sell better than an pure EV but like all the Ev's , they don't profit. RIP Ram.

In terms of BEST overall EFFICIENCY, the engine only needs to be powerful enough for the genrator it's matched too. Too much engine will waste fuel. Also look at the engine bay? That Pentastar is barely fitting as it is because it's sitting higher. Longer Hemi not gonna work.
